I was given this crowler two weeks ago and grabbed it today to put in the fridge. It was soft and leaking. Since it’s been cold it tightened up a bit. Would you drink this? Any thoughts on what happened? It’s been sitting in a box with other beers, not crowlers.

    Thanks

    Enjoy

I would at least taste it. Doubtful it's going to hurt you. Hopefully it tastes okay. Maybe it's a little flat if actually leaking. Some of that mess could be from a poor fill and seal

They did a lousy job of sealing the can. Take it back or, if that's not possible, send the brewery the pic - maybe they'll send you a hat or something.

(That's how I got my Acme - North Coast Brewing Co. hat. Bought a case of old beer - it was under a fresh case I'd bought a few weeks before, so I didn't check :grimacing: - and the brewery owner couldn't get the local distributor to do anything about it, so he offered me $X in "stuff". Funny thing was, a couple of years later he posted here on BA that they never had a complaint about old beer.
:astonished:"WTF! How'd I get my ACME hat, then!")

It was clean when it was handed to me. Just don’t want to get sick from it. The one I did drink two weeks ago was really good.

    Enjoy

You’ve been here 10 years to see every other “what should I do with this beer in less than perfect condition?” thread. The consensus is always: it shouldn’t make you sick, so try it to see if it’s still good.

What’s keeping you from trying it?

Drink it pronto and then discuss this beer today in New Beer Weekend.

    Cheers!

The obvious answer is to take it to your next share. Just be sure to rinse off the can beforehand so no one notices it's leaking.
