After missing 3k and 4K, finally...Fremont Brew 5000!

Yes, this is delicious. Lots of toffee on the nose. Nice dark suede color with a light mocha head. Flavor is toffee, light vanilla, stone fruit. Alcohol gives a tiny cleansing bite at the back of every sip. Tight carbonation, whips up a maelstrom with a little swirling in the glass. English style sweetness. Mouthfeel is full but not syrupy or oily or sludgy. Gets a buttery toffee vibe once it warms up a little. This seems like a by-a-winter-fireplace-fire kind of drink, but I only have this one, so I’m not chancing what might happen with the wait. One teku in, and the ABV starts to show up.

 

Still remember the first time I had Jai Alai down in Naples.
I was pleasantly surprised..... just didn't know.
Still good.

 

I experienced life where fresh M-43 and Cassian Sunset were next to each other at my local beer retailer. That is what dreams are made of. @Mortal_Wombat, the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Cincinnati Reds. Dreams and routine can collide!

At Hawkmoth Brewing with an Azzaca Obscura DIPA, The wife is pulling DD duty

 

Man, it continues to just rain in Houston. Been over a week of just rain, there have been a few breaks, and in those moments everyone rushes to the stores or restaurants/bars, then it starts to rain again ha. I usually stick close to home when it rains a lot cause my neighborhood floods really quickly.

So, with more rain coming down, no better time to spin some more Houston blues and Houston beer.

Saint Arnold Pub Crawl, Lighting Hopkins Dirty Blues. Both essential

 

I drank one of those tonight as well. I liked it. It was un-impressed by the bitterness or lack thereof. Silly IBU numbers disappoint yet again.

Rebal Toad Sucide Hops at Padre Island Burger Company. At 100ibus it's a big old school malty IPA, and absolutely delicious! Looks like a brown ale. Laced the glass all the way down. Makes me want to watch an old school episode of Lace Stockings.

 

This was beer #2 at the taproom. I enjoyed it and bought a 4 pack to enjoy at home.

LSD is great. It was 85 degrees for the 26 mile ride today. More to come.
