Good morning, advocates, and thanks for opening the bar, @Shanex. Mother in law’s wake and funeral were the last two days, so the entire exhausted Schrei family were all out like a light early last night. I’m letting the rest of them sleep while I have a breakfast beverage (with a completely inadvertent strangely appropriate name in relation to recent events).
I never thought I’d be at a funeral where the organist segued out of the Communion hymn into a rendition of White Christmas, but that’s the type of person my mother in law was. We played this one for her at the funeral home yesterday morning as well. I have to say had good taste in music.

Thanks to @Shanex for getting this party started. @mschrei sorry for your loss. Up early and it's a beautiful, Sunny bu cool Spring morning in metro NYC with temperatures exceeding 90ºF for later today. Enjoying an ice cold Schöfferhofer before it heats up.

Today in 1934, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow died in a hale of bullets Black Lake, Louisiana. The nostalgia associated with them is often attributed to the resentment and sense of injustice many directed at the Banks (and Big Business, in general) and an insatiable need for entertainment during the worst doldrums of the Great Depression. Our times have more things in common with theirs than many of us would like to admit.

Finally tracked down BBB last night after all my usual spots being sold out for weeks. It is a little over a month old and was not cold stored so maybe that’s the reason I’m having trouble detecting some of the flavors I was expecting. Nose is tropical coconut with a light dank hop aroma. Taste follows suit but the coconut takes center stage. Barely detectable banana flavor on the backend but I was left wanting more.

 

Sorry. I did a "drive by" yesterday. Only my second posting on New Beer Weekend. I'll keep your pointers in mind next time.
