    Sticking with my final Chicago Brewing Company Hardway I. P. A. before I join the general population at a bar on the casino floor as they are closing.

    The guy next to me hit a $1 Royal for four large, hoping I can hit one of these $1K-$2 progressives. My neighbor keeps gambling, a true degenerate.

    It’s Two AM and they are closing this bar. Budweiser is the top shelf beer until a bar reopens.

    I took the opportunity to order a draft of Deschutes Pond Mirror during last call.

    12 oz draft pour into a plastic cup.

    Appearance: Clear tan pour, nominal carbonation, creamy white fine lacing clings to a plastic glass. 3.75

    Aroma:     Luscious pine citrus hops, bread caramel, lightly sweet, strong in strength, bold and pleasant. 4.0

    Taste:     Consistent with the aroma. Pine citrus and lemon taste, malt backing brings caramel and a sweet bread backing. Works well together. 3.75

    Mouthfeel:     Light to medium body, slight sugary creaminess, minimal carbonation. Easy drinking and finish. 3.5

    Overall:     This is a nice and easy Pale Ale, above average flavor in strength and breadth, sweet and bitter blends well. Nice offering. 3.75

    [​IMG] Poured into a 16 oz Nordic pint glass not sure when it was canned. Pours a hazy yellow with a half finger sticky white head that leaves plenty of thin lines of lace with nice retention. 4.25

    Aroma is apricot, mandarin, pineapple, pine, and grapefruit rind. 4

    Taste follows apricot, mandarin, pineapple, pine, and grapefruit rind. 3.75

    Mouthfeel is above medium, a tad dry and sticky, fairly soft carbonation, and 6.7% ABV it drinks bigger in flavor. 3.75

    Overall I find this to be a tad bitter for the style, it is not bad by any means but I expect more from this brewery. Worth a shot for sure. 3.75

    Good day BAs! Off to a warm and DRY start to the day - yesterday turned out to mostly dry so I, out of boredom, mowed most of my brother's yard. I'll finish it today after making a beer run to Total Wine and Spec's and 5 Stones. Should be working Weathered Souls in soon as well. @ChicagoJ , thanks for starting thew thread and good luck breaking through to the other side! Just don't try to run, try to hide.
    Today's New Breakfast Beer is one I picked up at Gucci B a couple of days ago:

    How said is it that my stomach dropped because I thought I missed Mothers Day. The sad part is we hosted a dinner for my daughter and DIL. I'm coming down with a serious case of CRS. Cheers.

    Humpday lunch beer is always appropriate, right? Found some more Jack's Abby Sunny Ridge Czech style pilsner. Really enjoy this beer. I'm headed to Destin, FL for some R&R next week. Can't wait! Much needed vacation time with the family. Cheers folks!
