Andy Capp comics often have a beer related theme. In one old strip, Andy was walking by a brewery and thought to himself, "So much to do, so little time to do it in." See a current beer related Andy Capp strip (today's!): https://www.gocomics.com/andycapp/2021/05/27
Comment on Andy Capp's regular brew. It's dark. The strip is over 50 years old. Maybe originally Dark Mild? Or today, maybe more likely to be Stout?
Or, it's just easier to show the level in a glass, in a B&W strip, with a darker liquid. I know Capp had a Sunday strip too, was his tipple inked with black, or was it colored like the rest of the panels?
Someone else linked these a couple weeks ago. They are ollllllld, but moderately funny. A bit esoteric though. https://www.flickr.com/photos/moderncow/sets/72157626099891054/
The current strips on line are all in color and the 5 or so beers that I saw are dark. Of course Andy could change it up if he wants, to a bitter or even a hazy IPA. I don't remember what the beer looked like in the old strips which aren't posted.
I dug around for some of the '70s vintage strips I read as a kid and couldn't find any good pub scenes, but I remember his pints being mostly black. Again, probably just easier to make it stand out in those days of B&W strips and newsprint printing back then. OTOH -- I read some accounts that Andy Capp was supposed to be set in a coast town just south of Newcastle, so as they say in song, "That Newcastle Brown can sure smack you down."
Pints and Panels has some pretty good content. She is currently working on her master cicerone and has decided to draw out the whole syllabus. She will also do beer artwork on request giving a percentage of proceeds to charity
