I wouldn't bother with this line of questioning sadly.
This is the last ill bother, but for fun, please feel free to let us all know how intimately involved you were and are in hiring, firing, discipline, and fielding HR complaints. Because I get you may have waited in lines for cans for 2 hrs or bought bread and butter at the Cafe day 1 they opened or whatever but I'm not sure why anyone should value your perspective over everything posted by ratmagnet. I think people on BA think hanging out at a taproom makes you friends or offers special insight into any number of breweries, but in terms of these issues it really doesn't, other than maybe what they're releasing next week. Anyway I'm done with this discussion. Maybe a few BAs read these discussions in the last couple weeks and have seen ratmagnets posts and realized their perspective and experiences don't encompass those of many minorities and women in this industry. Time will tell.

I get treated like shit at my job. It's called a job not a hobby for a reason.

This is the one of the most laughable things I've read in a long time. I'm sorry, I didn't bite on the earlier post, but this was too much.

What are you one of those people still collecting unemployment?

I suspect he's probably one of the (many) people that aren't ok with getting shit on at their place of work and found a job he actually enjoys, or at least tolerates.

You need a new job. Being in a toxic work environment will make you calloused, bitter and angry and scew your views of the world. It is no way to live. I've been there, and the whole world seems like a better place when I work for a place where myself and management have mutual respect for each other.

It’s not, but happens all the time, probably more so than people that are not treated like shit. That’s the reality of it. If you find a job you love and you can make a living at it? Never leave.

I may have missed this but was there any more light shown on Little Log Cabin's association with Tired Hands through the recent transparency? Obviously there's more paramount issues abound but genuinely curious if the current TH staff is at all associated with that brand (IG and releases for LLCB have been silent for months now).

Maybe the LLC brewers are just busy hanging out with the Heavy Gem brewers.

What I find really remarkable is that in the face of a really shitty work environment, the TH workers joined together, refused to move forward with business as usual, and seemed to have force some change. The future is definitely far from certain, but what they’ve accomplished together thus far is pretty inspiring.

I understand this did happen but has there been any actual showings of updates in the ownership structure with the employees being taken care of?

Has Jean really stepped away fully?

I don’t have any special insider knowledge or other updates on how things are going at TH. Just what I’ve read in the papers and online when things were going down.

I will say that there seem to be two broad issues here. First is preventing a shitty boss from making employees’ day-to-day work lives difficult and denying jobs/training/promotions/respect to women and people of color. By forcing the removal of that boss from daily operations, it sure sounds like the TH workers made some real progress towards that end.

(Admittedly, there may still need to be some wrongful termination lawsuits or other actions to get compensation for those done dirtiest; and other actions may be needed if Jean starts to nose back into operations in some way or if current leadership exhibits similar problems.)

Making sure that a shitty owner doesn’t profit from people’s work is a separate and much larger issue. There are some different employee-ownership and worker-controlled coop models for breweries and other businesses, but how they’d work in this situation and how invested the employees are in making that happen, I couldn’t say. As a consumer, I’d definitely support that sort of change moving forward.

For those looking for signs of "change:" 100% of the profit from this week's Rose cans going to Women's Law Project ("public interest legal center devoted to defending & expanding the rights of women, girls, and LGBTQ people in PA & beyond").

I don't know the details as to how this decision came about (whether it was collectively driven, or whether it was a singular decision from whoever's at "the top" now), I know Tired Hands has traditionally given to progressive charities in the past, and I know it isn't a reorganization of power... but thought others might take note of it as well.
