Yeah, I know. The Anchor. The one that I gave a 4.47 to. Only 4.13 for the Sierra Nevada. 14 years ago tomorrow that I rated the Anchor. I don't remember seeing it since then. :slight_frown:

Eek. They've never stopped brewing it. You need to find out who their distro is in your area and rattle their cage -- especially with the new Anchor branding and all -- you'd think they'd want to get it on shelves.

Other than the one mixed 12 pack I bought (no Porter), I'm lucky to see the Steam Beer, and I am running that inventory low. But I will ask.

Mine was only a few months old, too -- and I'm a whole lot further from San Fran than you!

@Bitterbill -- just looked up the Liquor Shed, where you report your last AP purchase -- they look well-staffed and knowledgeable -- get 'em on the horn!

Except the go getter beer guy left for Fort Collins and things haven't been the same since but, like I said. I will ask.

Damn man -- I just used Anchor's beer finder and it has no results for ANY Anchor beer within 100 miles of Caspar!

I think they may have given up on Wyoming!

There's a contact page at the Anchor website, when a search yields no results they ask you to contact them. Worth a go.

Beer finders, I have found, are not all that accurate in every case. Perhaps smaller drops prevents hits to show up on the site?
We have never gotten huge amounts of any of their beers so I would guess yes to my question.

I hope that's true -- at least for your sake to find some Porter.

I looked for their beers within 5 miles of me and nada! :astonished::thinking_face:

Turns out the spot I got the Porter is 5.2 miles away.

I haven't seen ANY of the new branding here in MA.

I suppose that makes things easier?

You don't need to pick up those beers to know that they are old since the old branding lets you know right away.

    Cheers!

Hard pass on their new Summer ... no more buying hazy IPAs for me.

Are you sure you haven't just overlooked it?

I had to double-take the first time I saw it -- thought it was just another new label on the shelf.

Please -- do expand on this (rather contrary to the current trend) decision.

For the most part I am right there with you. When I am craving an IPA I am looking for more of a West Coast IPA. I recently homebrewd an Idaho 7/Citra WCIPA and in the primary right now is a Ekuanot WCIPA.

An IPA with notable bitterness and also an aspect of crispness/dry quality is just so much more appealing these days.

Maybe I will 'brand' my latest IPA as No Joose IPA?

    Cheers!

20% are rubbish, 70% taste and look similar, & the other 10% are great but I'm done dropping $20 a four-pack. "Hazy IPA" does not equate to "drinkable" to me at all and a lot of the product out there is old from what I can see. I'm perfectly fine with getting some Founders All Day for $1 a can or SN Torpedo for $13.99 a 12-pack. I don't anticipate any new Hazy IPA to blow me away so no need for me to keep on trying the latest seasonal or new release. So even when my favorite breweries come out with a summer session Hazy IPA I'm not going to waste my time. It is what it is ... ;-)

    Bravo.

FWIW -- one of the BA threads got me craving Bell's 2 Hearted, which I hadn't had in some time. Still terrific. Still about the most perfect American IPA to be found. Not that there can't be others that are perfect, but 2 Hearted fires on all cylinders... without trying to follow a trend.

Well, maybe not a *current* trend.
