It's a candela wrapper which is green and hasn't been popular since the sixties. Generally speaking I won't smoke cigars made from reptiles. I'm tough, but I can only smoke from one burning end at a time.

Not having had that particular offering from HC, the ones I have had pushed the texture a bit far for me.
I’ll try a few more, but even the unopened can feel heavy.
    Cheers

They're really hit or miss - with their stouts and IPAs. When they're good, they're damn good, but when they're off ... well, it's a pretty hefty per-can price tag when they're off.

    Hey BA's

Home from a long day of driving - had to do an emergency delivery to a customer - 6+ hours on the road - plus side is I got to see my daughter in Columbus on the way back north....yea!

This is hitting the sweet spot right now - need to get back down to the "Wooly Pig" to re-stock soon!

Agreed, and just like @Roguer mentioned, their beer sucks when it isn't amazing. They have absolutely no middle ground, and yeah... $8-10 a can for some of their flavored 12% stouts is a rough price tag, especially if they're not good. I had a few just-plain-crappy ones a few months ago after having had a few truly excellent brews from them, and it really turned me off the whole concept. Plus, as we're getting warmer weather finally, I find myself reaching less and less for stouts, which I believe is a pretty normal sentiment.

Anyway, this is Kettlehead's Employee of the Month, the Frank version. Frank is the brewery fan, and the amusing can text makes sure to remark about how he has "three speeds and even though none of them are very fast he's quick to keep you feeling cool on those warm days." Kinda made me chuckle, but I appreciate cheesy humor and kitsch.

I also enjoy when a NEIPA-centric brewery does a more old-school or West Coast type approach here and there, and this satisfies that itch. It's focused on Ahtanum, Columbus Cryo, and the Falconer's 7Cs hop blend, and it's drinking mighty fine on this chill evening.

Hoppy Hour cheers to all. The Mighty Kosmkcki has gone off the rails with this new Prickly Pear Kool Aid beer. The 10% ABV is completely masked. Fun but I'd prefer a heavier hand with the tequila flavor. Of course, that can be arranged…

Got a nice load of timber from my walk...I’m all set up for the night, drinking another Freak of Nature:

The 100 IBUs are over the top, and I like the big piney citrus hop flavors. Enough malt base to keep the bitterness in check. A poundable DIPA? I vote yes. I’ll probably wait until 6pm to start my fire and make a little dinner. Cheers from Candler, NC!
