Any recos for breweries or bottle shops in this area? With the family so don't want to trek all over. Already planning a Brooklyn/Other Half pilgrimage.

Also any bars in the area that are family friendly and have good local tap lists?

    Thanks

There is only 1 brewery in Manhattan, Torch & Crown. Haven't been there but their beer is nice. Bottle shops, there are loads of good ones. Here's some of my favs: Carmine (good draught list, lots of cans and bottles available to go), Clinton Gourmet (mostly local IPAs, but prob the best selection in the city), Good Beer NYC. Not sure what a family friendly bar is, but I think Harlem Hops is great, As Is, Proletariat, Grand Delancey. Of all these, As Is and Clinton are closest to Times Square. Enjoy your trip!

Had brunch at Torch and Crown last weekend. Decent spot for kids. Beer is solid and the food was great (had a burger, wife had the spicy eggs, kids had the french toast).

Didn’t know Torch and Crown had a physical location. Sounds like a cool place.

For to-go cans relatively close to Times Square, Clinton Gourmet should be a priority.

By “area” do you mean Times Square specifically or anywhere in Manhattan? Just a heads up - The suggestions from @LeedsZimbabwe are all over Manhattan rather than limited to just the Times Square area.

Well my standby for quick one-night theatre trips in the before times was usually lunch or dinner at NY Beer Company on 44th St. between 8th and 9th Ave. They have a large amount of regional craft brews and I always have an OH Green City there. But it still shows as "temporarily closed" currently. I didn't have any young ones with me so couldn't tell you if that place was family friendly. My vegetarian brother met us there one time and the menu was large enough that he found some good options as well.

Yeah, I tried to mention that both As Is and Clinton are really the two places close to TS, but since the post said "Manattan", made some suggestions for elsewhere in the borough that might suit OP as well!

I would check out Beer Culture on 45th just west of 8th Ave. I haven’t been there in 3 years but I always enjoyed myself there. Usually like 10 taps and certain liquors and always cans and bottle to go. It’s pretty close to Clinton Gourmet so I’d try to check both, op

Snuck over to Carmine as well. What a selection! If we weren't on foot with multiple stops remaining I could have easily spent hundreds there.

How could no one suggest Haymaker? Where have the times gone? It wasn’t too long ago that every rec for Midtown was Haymaker.

I’d forgotten about them. I think they were closed for like 6 months. Did they reopen recently?

Haymaker has become one of my go-to spots when I'm in town for work.

I've also hit District Tap House on West 38th a few times when I stayed near Times Square.

I didn’t suggest Haymaker because he was looking for Times Square/Hell’s Kitchen recs but I guess Haymaker really isn’t that far. Lol, it’s only a subway stop or two away I suppose.
