    Half Acre Beer Hates Astronauts IPA (100% Citra). Not nearly as oniony as the last can I had a few weeks ago. A touch more malty and starting to get more tea-like flavors from the hops, but it’s still drinking well for 6 weeks in.

    Excellent dark body, black and opaque; thin to non-existent head. Huge nose filled with cocoa; roasted grains and hints of coffee. Rich mild chocolate and bourbon taste; fine coconut sweetness; black coffee simmering in the background; mild bitterness. Heavy body; rich and oily; dense residual sugar presence; fairly sweet mouthfeel overall.

    Some big ABV beers have great heads, others don't. This is an 'other' beer. Aside from that, the beer exudes depth and richness of character, nicely hiding its 10% ABV. Yes, dinged on the appearance, but otherwise an exceptional imperial stout.

    Poured at 54° F; no bottling info noted.
