    Good day advocates,

Currently drinking a classic IPA from California after a walk around the town with the missus. It’s warm and sunny again.

Tis Monday which for some is the worst day of the week. Have a good one, it’s always 5’ o’clock somewhere:

    Cheers!

Hi Shanex. Just curious. Are the Lagunitas' and Sierra Nevadas that you get in France brewed in CA, or in Illinois and North Carolina, respectively?

That’s a pretty good question and I’m sorry to say that I don’t have an answer.

«Logically » and by geography standards, we should get those from Mills River for Sierra Nevada and Chicago for Lagunitas, just for a matter of shipping.

@jesskidden Sorry to bug you man but since you’re often the encyclopedia of Beer could you provide a more detailed and accurate answer?

    Shanex,

On your Lagunitas bottle, there should be a code near the neck.

The first three numbers are the Julian date (hopefully between 1 and 150).

After a space a single number indicates the year (hopefully a 1 for 2021).

The next single number is their brewery (1 = Petaluma, CA & 2 = Chicago, ILL)

On the second line, the first four digits are the batch # and last four the military time.

Sierra Nevada is easier to read and decipher. M = Mills River, C = Chico

Sadly, Lagunitas’ taproom here hasn’t reopened to the public, one of only a few in Chicago, and they may not until 2022. It’s a fun place to visit.

Good day BAS! Thanks, @Shanex, for starting today's thread! Off to an overcast start to the day - looks like the TX rain may have followed me home. Today's New Breakfast Beer did follow me:

Decent malty IPA - rating 3.68, rDev +10.8%.

And yesterday's New Breakfast Beer, which somehow didn't get posted:

One I would REALLY like to try fresh, rating 3.68, rDev -11.3%.

Good morning BAs! Up early getting stuff done...now it’s coffee time - KBS:

Bottled 2/3/21. Poured at 53°. Bitter roast coffee, char, bittersweet dark chocolate and bourbon on the backend. Delish! I’m glad to be home, although at 9am it’s already 80° with 75% humidity, and it’s only going to get hotter. Cheers and have a great day y’all!

Morning, Advocates! Packing is in full swing, and it's both exciting and stressful. Naturally, despite owning dozens of bottle openers, I neglected to put one aside until the packers had already burned through the kitchen, my bar, my liquor/wine cabinet, and even the curios I have set out for display.

Thankfully, after some frantic digging, I found this little definitely-for-emergency-use-only New England Patriots-branded Bud Light opener - fitting, I suppose.

We could both use a KBS this morning.

    Cheers!

Kicking off Monday with Sweet Tarts, a Maine Blueberry Sour Ale from Peak Organic Brewing. It hits on the promised blueberry and tartness, but there's nothing else going on. I rated it 3.54 which is just a tick below it's BA average of 3.67.

For who is interested, this is how we get Sierra Nevada in NW Europe. It is imported via Ireland and finds its way to France, NL an other countries from there without worries about borders.

Date at the bottom must be a best before date. Could not find a canning date on this.

    Cheers!

In my glass now is Workhorse Cranberry Wheat. A really nice fruited wheat beer with some tartness. Wifey really likes this one.

You must have been reading my mind. I was going to post the SN Pale Ale I'm drinking now and point out that your can is the draught version, which as far as I know is only available on draught in this country. We get the bottle and can conditioned product, apparently France gets the bottle conditioned version as well. Draught is 5% ABV, bottle conditioned is 5.6% ABV

    Drinking SNAPPY

Haven't seen any shower beer pics in ages, so, after playing 'Farmer Goot' (planted tomatoes - Dona, Siberian, Thessalonki and peppers - King Arthur bell peppers, Sriracha hot pepper), I needed to wash the sweat and dirt from the body, and the same from my parched throat...
