Logyard Prognosticator Porter, a semi local beer that I've never had before. Picked it up on discount since it's a bit aged, but still quite delicious.

3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze. Classic Belgian sour.
Awesome summer beer. Sour taste can take some getting used to. But I'm getting it now I think (at last).

This one was bottled in 2018. But no worries. Most Belgian beer keeps for ages.

 

Off work a few hours early. Our oldest daughter is on her way from New Orleans for a 5 day visit so I'm getting all my crap out of her room, V2K.....

 

The Mariners have a morning game against the Motor City Kitties, and I'm having a brew I grabbed a couple days ago at Elizabeth Station here in Bellingham WA, Ruekeller Helles from The Bruery. Thing is, it was canned 8/17/20. Good work E Station, good work. Attaboy, you fucks.

The Tulip of Doom now carries the remnants of a can Timothy Hay-Z from Iron Horse. The name of the beer is the best thing about it.

Having a Hippie Chick while my chicken wings cook for dinner ..

 

Advertised as a "West Coast" IPA. No bitterness makes me think not so much. Don't get me wrong, It's tasty but not WC.

 

Back from the lake. Time to try another new beer for vacation weekend. Cheers!

It’s a hot one, the promised lake effect breeze is failing to reach 2ish miles off shore.

Starting off with a new to me beer from one of my Chicago favorites, Spiteful.

Spiteful Buzz Worthy



Brewer Notes: This is a 16 oz draft pour into a nonic. 6% ABV, a Pale Ale with Honey. Per my discussion with their bartender, this is their Stubborn Sally base, brewed with honey. Hops are Simcoe, Citra, Amarillo.

Appearance: Clear crisp clean faint straw colour base, bright fine fizzy bubble head leaves thin lacing. Light carbonation. 3.75

Aroma: Light grassy aroma, lemon, citrus with the honey coming through well. Enticing, but light in strength. 3.75

Taste: Consistent with the aroma, but stronger. The honey leads, gives gravitas, creaminess and wonderful flavor, and a nice balance to the bitter hop combo. Yes please. 4.25

Mouthfeel: Light fizzy persistent carbonation, medium body, honey adds a creamy weight to this pour. Easy drinking, crisp clean finish. Leans bitter overall and lightly dry, honey and Citra doing its best to keep the bitterness in check. 4.0

Overall: This is a nice easy great Summer offering. Light and easy to drink, firm bitterness balanced with a wonderful honey component. They just released this one and I want to complement them for another wonderful beer. Need to hunt down Stubborn Sally in the future to compare and contrast. Really glad I stopped in the taproom today! 4.25

Chill 80s mix here I’ll share with you. It’s been too long since my last visit, glad things are returning to normal.

 

Damn, chicken wings are smelling fantastic - still got some time to go.
