Goddmanit I just got so excited until I saw CA/NY only. Went from full blown giddy to bummed out all in the span of a second.

I’ve been hoping this would make a National comeback. Oh well thanks for posting though, exciting news.

So awesome that SN gets rid of all its widely distributed lagers and then takes 2 great beers ( a Bock and a non traditional IPA, I should add) and only offers them via shipping to a handful of states.

I’m seriously starting to lose it with them.

I already placed my order (early benefits of being an Alpha Hops Member). I love me rye beers (whether ales or stouts).

    Disturbing trend I do see.

25 years of buying their beer is seriously on the precipice of ending for me.

They switch to almost all IPAs and other styles now with adjuncts because they’re trying to follow the market I understand even though I’m not happy about it. You know, money and all.

This and the Bock, whether or not it’s intended to be, is kind of a slap in the face to beer buyers like you and me who have blindly bought every style of their beer (me since the mid/late-90s) because it was from them.

This is precisely why most of us buy local now.

All it's widely distributed lagers? Nooner has been gone a while and Vienna wasn't widely released. Summerfest and Oktoberfest (which isn't discontinued) are all that were left.

Seems like SN never really wrapped its arms around lagers all that much anyway.

    Did I miss a release?

Yeah, I said that -- parens follow the subject "Oktoberfest."

I stick to my comment about SN never really being about lagers -- as much as I liked their dabbles.

Ok sorry. They got rid of 75% of their widely distributed lagers. That’s not exactly “nearly all” but it’s not far off.

My greater point is that I don’t understand their recent decision making at all.

Hah. 75% of 10% (maybe 5%) of their catalog.

You’re gonna laugh when you have to order the Oktoberfest or Celebration via shipping and hope you live in one of those states.

I get that the really small distro window is a bummer for some of y'all...but I'm stoked on this. I love a good Rye IPA, which (sadly) has become a vanishingly difficult to come across since Bear Republic's Hop Rod Rye was also discontinued.

Definitely will be ordering this. Thanks for the heads up @BeerVikingSailor !

First world problems. I'll worry about it after my next visit to my cardiologist.

Yeah I had like the 3rd post in that thread. Hence…my bigger point of I’m not quite sure what to make of the recent decisions they’ve been making.
