    I wrote this years ago...

    Beer by Harald Otto Schweizer

Life without beer would fill me with fear.

To live without drinking something fermented

would definitely make me become demented.

There is just one thing about which I rave:

drinking beer from the cradle to the grave.

I wonder if Nantucket Brewing will ever use poetry (a limerick is a poem isn't it?) to sell their beers?

    Cheers!

    Beer is a good presence
and makes most of us think about time
    family and mostly the tomorrows.
    The old times really
    are the truth, when
    you thought nothing
    about beer at all.

Some of the beers that I buy are dear,
Almost like I'm paying out of my rear,
    Even if they are fresh,
    And they manage to mesh,
I will never buy expensive beer as a career.

    Like it or lump it.

The Ogden Nash poem from years ago:
    Candy is dandy,
    But liquor is quicker.

    My take on the poem:
    Candy is dandy,
    But beer is near.

(Okay, I'll admit I didn't spend much time on that poem. :stuck_out_tongue:)

Full many a peer of England brews
A livelier liquor than the Muse,
and Malt does more than Milton can
to justify God's ways to Man.

They call me a hop head and I live it, son. If there ever was a hop head than I am one. Love the taste of herb with a breath of pine, with linger that clings like a lupulus bine. So fine to taste hops throw down zest, orange, grapefruit, peach, and mango best. Love it to swirl through alcohol spice with some bitter that ends things awfully nice. They call me a hop head, and I guess that's true, drinkin' a G-Bot as I write this to you. With a Two Hearted backup, Heady behind, you can say this boy has some hops on his mind. And I admit I love them, can't get enough. With no IPA this life would be tough. But I never have to worry or look for a hook up 'cause in the backyard grow some righteous Chinook up. So gimme Sunshine, Lunch, and Jai Alai, Green, Sculpin, Abrasive, and all in between, Head High and Bad Boy, Notorious, Duet, Hop Slam, and Pliny, so glad for hops to fill my glass, kick ass on my tongue, and never rest till praise fully sung. Put one in my hand when I go below. I'll be happy buried hoppy. This I know

Of this I know of your rhyme,
You spent a great amount of time.
So consider the reason for this comeback
Is to give you an appreciative pat on the back.

    It is a fine thing
with the grain and water so pure
    that makes reason so true.
