What was the price, bottle count on the recent BA Behemoth release? What is it realistically going for? I've seen offers all over the place. I was thinking of offering up an 09 BA speedway. Am I at least in the ballpark with the BA behemoth value?

It was $30 per bottle with a bottle count of 454 bottles

That's about all I can help you with as I plan on drinking mine.

Technically...it's my wife's bottle. You can bug her about when to open it.

    Good thing she loves everyone.

listen up, broham. A beer that limited and that expensive- you're at the whim of the trader- of which there are very few.

No one is going to realistically be able to give you a list of beers it will trade for. I doubt if even 50 bottles make it to the trade market, hell, even 20 is prob. pushing it.

Just face the facts- you prob. won't get it- so it goes.

it stings at first; over time the skin thickens and it hurts less and less.

What about a Churchill's Finest Hour 2012? 360 bottle release. Would this be considered?

The bottle count for BA Behemoth was 454 for $30 (750 ml bottle). I'm drinking my bottles, but judging from what the BA's out east were asking in trade for a puny 11.2 oz bottle of Kate the Great (2000 bottle release), it might be worth the entire Portsmouth Brewery. :sunglasses:

BA Behemoth had the highest bottle count (not by much) of the four BA brews that were sold on Sunday. The others: BA Alpha Klaus 423, BA Alpha Klaus w/Cherries 400, and BA Alpha Klaus w/Plums 391 all sold for $25 (750ml bottles as well).

I see this being more reasonable than a $50 BA Dark Lord. At least Behemoth is about $18. $12 isn't a horrible markup for barrel aging but it still makes me wince.

You are right about it being MORE reasonable but I dunno...I haven't had very many beers that I think can justify me spending more than $20 on them. I suppose it might make sense for beers that have been cellared and/or are hard to find but newly released beers with breweries asking for $25+ is becoming more commonplace these days which sucks. I personally think that the Armand 4 beers probably deserve their asking price but when was the last time we all payed this amount and thought to ourselves "yeah that was worth it compared to the competition and their prices?" Here in New England, Lawsons asks $30 for some of their releases so I should note that I don't mean to completely single out 3F. Just happened to be this thread where I felt the need to be a whiner about beer prices...pouty face.

(Of course, we all pay it anyway so who the fuck cares...amiright or amiright?)

Well I justify it by comparing it to wine. Its much, much cheaper. That said, the fleecing of beer geeks must stop.

Until Beer Geeks stop paying the prices asked, the fleecing will never stop. Free market economy.

Just what I was going to say, if FFF sell's out of BA Dark Lords at $50 a pop, I guess the price wasn't set too high

Yeah, I too would agree with this. Honestly it will most likely take a relatively big heavy hitter (of course just my opinion). It appears to be true after looking at what people want in FT's and what people are offering in ISO's (and those not getting done). Not saying the FT's are getting done either, but you can tell/see it may take a bit to gank this from someone's grasp.
