It’s a decent time, if eating fried Turkey testicles is your thing. Sometimes they have decent bands

I’ve heard, and I’ve heard. I’ll happily sit on the back porch and drink good beer versus the swill served. Can hear it just fine.

Whatever, I didn't want to drive all the way to Huntley anyway, especially for a beer that doesn't even have any cake or candy in it.

Was at work earlier and saw I got my very first W on the board for Oznr lottos. That was hours ago and so far no zombies or portals to hell opening up or any of that other shit I thought might happen on this day.

I don’t know if it’s the heat, but these last dozen or so posts have been the most relatable ones I’ve seen in a while. Anyway, I “won” the right to buy a bottle and now must plan what entire morning or afternoon I’m gonna dedicate to my voyage to Huntley. Might take in some jousting and swordplay while I’m out that way…

More of a statement on @miniditka77 0/2 comments today. He did not get his cake, nor drank it too.

I wish they opened a location in the home of the 1952 state basketball champions.

Good beer and some of that broasted chicken from Crandalls together, I’m all in!

In all honesty Double Orgin is a great beer and very well balanced with flavors. Needed some lunch anyways and it wasn’t busy so had a couple pours with the beautiful Nashville Hot sandwich (highly recommend).

Did the same - had a pour of double origin when I went to pick up my bottle today and god damn, it's a great beer.

If you're visiting Huntley and don't want to strictly drink Double Origin I'd recommend not overlooking the guest taps (which I normally forget to even look at). Blend Project 4 from Whiskey Hill was quite tasty and seemed to use a different type of cinnamon than I'm used to having in beers.

I made my first visit to Huntley yesterday, and I was able to try Double Origin and BA Arketype. Honestly, they were pretty similar beers - both had a primarily coconut flavor and the barrel presence was pretty hidden by the adjuncts in both of them. Arketype was a little sweeter and more chocolatey, while DO had some coffee in the background. Both were really enjoyable. I'm not sure why you would age a stout for 27 months just to cover up nearly all the flavor of the barrel with coconut, but I'm not a brewer.

The service left quite a bit to be desired though. In the 3 hours I was there, I managed to have only four 5-oz drafts, and it wasn't because I was drinking slowly or said "no thanks" any time I was asked. Overextended waitstaff combined with a strange "no more than two 5oz drafts per order" rule makes it really difficult.

Made a voyage out to Huntley on Saturday to pick up Double Origin, but due to a busy day I only had time to pick up my bottle.

I was there for about 15 minutes (just to get the beer...yes, it took that long, as you had to stand in line as if you were ordering a beer to get your to-go order) and I just about had an anxiety attack.

They place was SLAMMED with many customers waiting outside to be seated and long waits to do anything. I think every family within a 20 mile radius was there, determined to have a meal, and it was clearly more than the (admittedly huge) place could handle. I do mean families...there were tons of REALLY, REALLY old people there that I couldn't watch, because I was certain some drunk dude was going to bowl them over & break their hip.

I was happy to get my bottle...but even happier to get the hell out of there!
