Was going to do a formal review of a beer that’s been among the top selling beers here longer than I’ve been alive, but has declined in share as their loyal customers have died. However, it’s either 4,7 or 10 months old, and tastes a bit off, which is not good considering it’s an Old Style.

Happy Summer, BAs! Went out for salad greens @ 9:15, & (absent storm) felt as though I should still be out there working. :stuck_out_tongue::grin:
Finishing up the growler of Other Half Out For Trout NEIPA. Seems as though it has Nelson Other than abv (8.0%) & style, my source had no info. OH has no current info posted. @TheIPAHunter , any memories/experience with this one?
In any event , whatever this is, it's good. :sunglasses::+1:

Shoutout to @Thankin_Hank - glad you enjoyed the beers. I love sharing stuff from here and I’ll always need some more Yellow Rose!

I can't believe I have not reviewed this beer yet. I am sure I have had two 6ers of it. It is worthy and an interesting slant on pilsner.

[IMG] Poured into a 16 oz Snulip glass bottle on 2/12/21. Pours midnight black with a finger plus mocha head that leaves thin streaks of lace with excellent retention. 4.75

Aroma cocoa nibs, chili peppers, cinnamon, Expresso bean, vanilla bean, and a little hit of Oaked bourbon. 4.25

Taste follows cocoa, cinnamon, chili peppers, coffee, vanilla, and again a little peppery heat mixed with woody bourbon really well balanced. 4.5

Mouthfeel is big, gentle creamy carbonation, not dry, and at 10% it drinks bigger but is still very approachable. 4.75

Overall this is a very impressive BA RIS I am savoring every single sip and it is so complex you pick up a new flavor after every sip. 4.5

I’m a fire sign, so the summer solstice stirs my core. I must replenish it yearly with loads of vibrant yellow beers, in preparation for the other ten months of gray and cold.

Another @russpowell treat. Lost Forty Nighty Night “2020.” They put a fancy sticker over the original “batch 2019” can name. Someone should tell them we dark beer drinkers don’t mind age on our beers. Especially ones aged in barrels of rye and red wine. Poured cold, there was no head until about a minute after the can contents were in the glass. Then a half-finger dark mocha head bubbled up. This is viscous, probably why the head couldn’t surface right away. Lots of sticky lacing, with waves of cling as it gets poured and released. There’s a nice rye cleansing flavor up front, followed by a dry red wine finish, and a bit of barrel. It’s slightly sweet, but nowhere near dessert level. Very nice. Own your age, Lost Forty, I don’t mind!
