Yup ! They from this brewery are guys like that!
    Crazy self-irony.
They called their Saison "TOO MUCH CARDAMOMO", because at a homebrewing festival the brewer received this comment about it.

Actually, even on the label it says "... BUT THERE ISN'T CARDAMOM"

Sipping on a sweaty 2016 Avery - Uncle Jacob’s Stout right now. Kinda tastes like black licorice and charred woody oak. Giving it time to warm up, want to pair it with some Scotch actually, some leathery tobacco and toasted nut notes are starting to come out with a dense chocolate, coffee and black grape flavor, pretty bold and roasty, some caramel, bourbon, good stuff. Cheers all!

I'm such a homer for Beer'd, but Russian River is, as always, simply on another level. You've got outstanding beers, and then you've got truly world class beers.

Thanks @JayORear for the Apical Dominance!

Oh no idea. That's just about half, at most. I've been saving up to make a mosaic someday - if I ever get around to it.

50 years ago today, this amazing piece of art was released. Talking about Joni Mitchell's Blue of coarse. This is one of the few, like Sketches of Spain, A love Supreme, Lady in Satin that just transcend all (not coincidentally, I could have named several more albums from each of those artists that can lay equal claim, just like Joni)...It was released 12 years before I was born, but I have grown up with this, and has become a part of me as much as anything.

So hear is a Thank You and cheers to Joni, and all musicians that make it possible to get through the day.

Põhjala Brewery -- Forest Bänger (imperial stout with rowanberries and juniper)

    4.25/5 rDev -1.4%
    look: 4.25 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

Deep, dark brown, nearly black body; excellent light chocolate head, creamy and lasting. Beautiful nose; chocolate with blueberries and strawberries; spruce. incredibly complex taste; roasted grains; some fiery flavor that seems like hot chili pepper; boozy, sipping gin. Heavy body; thick and velvety; bold alcohol warmth; sticking, lingers on the palate.

If you love a strong stout with interesting adjuncts thrown into the mix, Põhjla has a beer for you. Juniper and rowanberries among other adjuncts give this beer distinction and a memorable twist.

Poured at 56.3° F; no bottling information noted although the label brewery's web site note that this is one of their Forest Series beers (retired per the web site).
