It doesn't get any more slammable than this.

 

A lager brewed by Kona. Easier on my stomach than the IPAs I had last night. See post #1063 in Post Your Beer Haul thread for further information.

Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup: (Misidentified 2 out of the 3 pairs in the blind taste test)

1) Goose Island’s 312 (4.2%): An urban wheat ale from Chicago that has flavors of lemon citrus, wheat, and cream. Wheat, but creamy and smooth.

2) Schell's Cream Ale (4.7%): A cream ale from Minnesota that has pale malt flavors with mild vinous grape and cream flavors.

3) Summit Keller Pils (5.1%): A zwickel-style beer from Minnesota that has flavors of lemon, honey, and yeast with a dry finish.
versus
4) Surly’s First Ave +1 (5.1%): A blonde ale from Minnesota that has flavors of lemonflower with a smooth and earthy honey malt finish.

5) Dogfish Head Hazy O IPA (7.1%): A hazy IPA from Delaware brewed with oat and oat milk to give the IPA a creamy and smooth mouthfeel after flavors of orange, strawberry, tropical fruit, and creamsicle. Sweet and tasty.

6) Insight Brewing’s Claw King IPA (7.2%): A hazy IPA from Minneapolis with flavors of orange, grapefruit, citrus flower, strawberry, with a light vanilla cream finish.

Winners:

1) Goose Island 312: This is the definition of an urban wheat ale. A wheat ale with just a taste of a Chicago cream ale.

3) Summit Keller Pils: This Kellerbier has light and dry flavors. Nice lemon, with some dry yeast and cleansing pale malt and wheat flavors. One of my favorite beer styles and delicious.

6) Insight Brewing Claw King IPA: This hazy IPA has strong orange and citrus flower flavors. Lots of orange and citrus. Extremely juicy and flavorful even if drinking not quite as fresh. Hazy O leaned too sweet for an everyday IPA.
Always humbling to mismatch two in the three pairs.

I am enjoying it today.....

 

White Elm Fluffernuttergus Imperial Milk Pastry Stout, 12.5% ABV. A marshmallow peanut butter milk stout. What else would they call it? Thinking there's some innuendo involved also. The nose is much better than the flavor.

Good luck Mike! If it's like the market here it will sell by this weekend. My friend moved to Cincinnati a month ago and sold his house in Ocala in 11 days for $15K more than they were asking (however that works)......
