Man, I used to love to wait in line, but I think I’ve changed to the online release only camp. If it means I miss out going forward I miss out going forward.

I hear you man. I’m just ready to return back to pre-Covid normalcy even if that means I have to stand in line for beer.

I’m with you. It was…not pleasant racing down after work, waiting in December/January in the dark, getting pelted with freezing rain (it seems it was always precipitating), stamping my feet to get feeling in them again, hearing that sanctuary kegs tapped out before I could elbow past everyone, and then limiting my consumption because I had to drive home again.

At least the Honey Butter Fried Chicken was warm and never crowded.

    Man, I’m a whiner.

I’m OK with that level of normalcy never returning. However, I do miss the release day taps, so here’s to hoping they work that back into the fold somehow next month!

Last release they had special draft and the taproom was open, so I'm hoping that's back to stay.

Is that "normal" though? I'm not sure any of us ever were to begin with.

There was at least 1 special tap with the last DW release. I'm 95% sure it was a Sanctuary series but can't remember what exactly.

Double Barrel Deth Jacket, barrel aged for 4 1/2 years to yield an 18% ABV, was awesome.

Also loved the Coconut Eugene, which they used 12.5 pounds of coconut per barrel. Very well blended into the base, would buy a few six packs if they canned this in the future.

Hope they continue with the great tap room offerings on release day, with a small stage for a saxophone accompaniment.

I did take off in the evening for VSOJ because I want to try the draft only variants.

Sucks for no proxies for VSOJ, but it is for the best I suppose. I'm sure there will be plenty on draft, and plenty of kegs out at special partners over the next year so folks will get to try it.
I look at this as Rev helping me demonstrate some restraint - we all have lots of good beer and don't need to horde a bunch. (I mean, I WANT to. I just don't NEED to.)

Assuming you go to pick up the release (hopefully a safe assumption given your profile pic), the no proxy part doesn't impact the amount you can get though? It's the 1 4pk per person that does that.
