Does anyone know of any brewery selling IPA variety packs consisting of single-hop beers? I'm trying to develop more experience with the flavor profile of popular hops and I have already read some recommended resources on the topic, but I want to taste the result. Brewery X here in Anaheim, CA often offers 3-4 different single hop IPAs on their menu, but not for sale as mixed 6-packs and they don't do flights. A mixed 6-pk or 4-pk would seem to be a great tool for learning, (even while recognizing that flavor comes from more than just the selected hop)..

I think Sam Adams had a Deconstructed once, can't recall if that was the different hops or what (I know Prairies had this for a Bomb, thats definitely not the hops)

Schlafly has done this a few times in the past with 12 packs.

I think Sierra did one a few years back if memory serves me correct. Though I haven’t seen it again since.

Jack’s Abbey recently did a “Cut through the Haze” lager mixed 12. Not sure if each beer was brewed exclusively with the one hop listed but It consisted of Nelson Brau, Citra Brau, and Galaxy Brau with a Hopponius Union kicker. Great mixer.

I believe you are correct, and if memory serves, it was a very good pack!

Mikkeler had a line of single hopped ipas about 10 years ago. It was a great way to get an idea of what each individual hop brought to the beer. Most people didn't care for it.

Mikkeller did a series. Back in 2012, I found 18ish of them, all supposedly brewed the same, with the same base recipe. My idea was to learn the different qualities of each hop.

Definitely a naive endeavor, still a fun experience.

SMASH beers still show-up, though you may need to assemble your own collection.

Beat me to it by “that much!” Haha. And yes, they were lackluster.

Also, try typing “Single Hop” in the search box. You will find about 950 of them. Many retired no doubt.

I know lots of brewers produce single hop beers...the question was specifically if they sell 4 packs or 6 packs with each container being a different hop. I ser references to some being available in the past but not currently

Lawson’s produces a series of beers that feature a hop variety:

Super Session #1 - Citra IPA

    Super Session #2 - Amarillo

Super Session #3 - Sorachi Ace

    Super Session #4 - Centennial

    Super Session #4 - Galaxy

    Super Session #5 - Cashmere

    Super Session #7 - Idaho 7

    Super Session #8 – Mosaic

The Mosaic version is out right now.

A few weeks ago I discussed Super Session #5 – Cashmere in a NBW thread:

see my earlier response to a previous comment. It is repeated here for convenience. "I know lots of brewers produce single hop beers...the question was specifically if they sell 4 packs or 6 packs with each container being a different hop. I see references to some being available in the past but not currently."

So, it seems that the 'best' you can do now (2021) is purchase the beers like those from Lawson's.

Your other option is to homebrew. I have an IPA that features Ekuanot hops that is getting into 'drinkable' condition right now. I will be drinking one in a few hours for Happy Hour! :yum:

    Cheers!
