Help with pics

    I know there have been threads on this in the past, but i couldn't find one. What is the simplest, easiest, free photo sharing site to post pics here? I used to use Imgur, and it worked well, but there were changes (I think on BAs end) and Imgur doesn't post pics. I just created a flickr account, and my first test post failed miserably. if someone knows how to use that, maybe we can start there. If not, I'm open to anything. HALP!

    I use postimage on web. Super easy.

    1. Take pic on phone
    2. Go to postimage https://postimages.org/
    Select image from your photos, upload.
    3.Scroll down, tap copy icon on right of the seventh option down, Hotlink for forums.
    4. Then tap in post to paste image.

    That’s what I’ve been using (Northeast beer drinking thread) and I’ve never had a issue.

    I use Postimage but when it's down, I switch to Flickr.

    Flickr is super easy:
    • Select your image
    • Click the 'share' arrow
    • On the "Share photo to" window, select "BBCode"
      • Choose your picture size
      • Copy the URL
      • Paste to BA
    Between the two, I get my pix posted one way or the other.

    IIRC, it's been a couple years now, at least. But, just go use that postimages.org link that @MattOC posted above. Really simple and easy. If I can use it......

    When I tried Flickr earlier today, there was no tutorial or help buttons. Couldn't figure it out on my own. I'll keep this on file though, in case. What size do I choose?

    BeerAdvocate forums use BBCode, so whatever imaging service one uses, the key is to always use a BBCode link...

    While Imgur is a pain, I know the drill so I still use it.

    I’ve actually wanted to delete it for a while because of the fact you have to leave the pic up on Imgur to have it posted on BA which causes comments and all kinds of other stuff on Imgur I’m not interested in. Thanks for the alternative.

    At least when I was using it, they had an option to set to private, so that it didn't get posted on their mainpage.

    Lol how this issue persists in 2021. Imagine how much time is spent by users doing all of that host uploading and cutting /pasting…let alone those struggling to figure out a reputable host to use and their specific sequence of key strokes etc. Stupid.

    I've never had an issue with it. Shrugs.
