What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #3178

Now at Arvon Brewing in Grand Rapids, MI. Left to right:
-Double Voyager DIPA (Galaxy, Citra, Mosaic)
-2x Blackberry Double Kettle (kettle sour with loads of blackberry)
-Down Under Duo DIPA (Galaxy/Vic Secret)
Both DIPA’s are semi-dry and bitter on the finish which I love. My favorite of the bunch is probably the Down Under Duo, but that blackberry kettle sour is really nice too. Another really impressive Michigan brewery.

J. W. Lee's Harvest Ale (Matured in Sherry Casks)



Full review in New Beer Weekend. Overall it is a good/ok offering, but I'd seek other barleywines down the road.

Music offerings are better from 1989. Here's my #2 band all time from Boston (The Cars gets the gold, J. Geils with the bronze), but GOAT in terms of lip synching.



The Smithereens weren't too shabby either.

 

Back to an east coast brewer trying west coast IPAs, with fair success (and maybe things are somewhat relative these days):


Front Royal Brewing Company’s Mile 0, sorta smells the part and sorta tastes the part. It’s a bit lighter than I’ve found in the PNW, at least, but I’m not-picking a nicely, but not rippingly, bitter IPA.
