Seeing a lot more A&T ISO. Maybe just from the same 2-3 folks who love dusty lambic

FWIW I thought 2015 A&G was as good as A&T and is a fraction of the cost. However, I also understand tickers gotta tick...

    Good luck!!

Totally agree about 2015 A&G versus A&T. Have had them both recently and that A&G is drinking so wonderfully whereas A&T feels slightly over the hill. 2015 A&G is probably the best deal in lambic right now but probably shouldn't be saying that too publicly since I need to be trading for more haha.

Huh, have both and have had both somewhat recently and A&T was definitely better by a fair amount IMO.

Maybe it has to with storage or just my personal taste. I can honestly say A&T is the one beer I’ve had stored in my wine fridge since acquiring shortly after it was released so perhaps that has something to do with it, I dunno or maybe my palate sucks from years of drinking over the top adjunct beers.

Well since I got my bottle from you, @cfh64, I doubt it has much to do with storage . Let’s call it bottle variation or just different palates :sunglasses:. I want to just state for the record that I thought A&T was great and I really enjoyed sharing it with friends.

Looking at my notes, when I recently had them I gave A&T a 4.75, and A&G '15 a 4.7. So perhaps my post above didn't get the point across that A&T is an incredible beer, but if you factor in for what you have to give up to land one, A&G '15 wins in a landslide.

Does A&G 15 have burnt rubber notes? I have always heard that about certain lambic and when I tried A&T with @Affinity I definitely picked that up. It was weirdly enjoyable.

Haha…I think most people in Missouri have tried a bottle from me, I’m a sucker for those Side Project beers.

It definitely may be a difference in palate, to each their own. Regardless, glad you still enjoyed it and shared it with friends. I’m sure like most hyped up beers, it delivers for some and not for others but is always fun to try and figure out for yourself.

    Cheers!

Lol, mmmmm….burned rubber! If you’re bottle tasted anything like mine then I love burned rubber. Maybe a slight sulphur taste? I’ve picked that up before.

Damn it, now I want to open a bottle but I’m running low :slight_frown:

I don’t have any plans or GOOD reason to go to Nashville right now but if I do, and I still have a bottle, I would share it with you in disgust.

No, I didn't get the burnt tire phenols from A&G '15 like I did with A&T. They have been present in a lot of the Golden Blend '14s I've tried though. Another amazing beer.

Man, I wish I still had some A&T to check on. Enjoyed reading through this thread, cheers to my fellow lambic nerds.

If you like burnt rubber/phenol notes then Soleil b2 would be your ultimate jam. I find there are subtle hints of it in many lambics out there but none as robust and in your face as w the cloudberries in b2.

Didn’t you get like 12 AT back in the day for a CCK? I remember getting six for a Sloth from Kennedy years ago when they were still turding up the shelves in Australia.

I think it was 6 and then I traded my ass off to get as many as I could. At one point I had 20 but shared some, traded some, gave some away, “lost” one in a LIF a few months ago, used a couple to help raise money for various small charities, etc …think I’m down to 4 or something like that.

Honestly, after the last one I had and how much I enjoyed it, it’s that much harder for me to trade one but not out of the question. Most of the trades I’ve done were for a quantity of beers, not just another whale (but I have done a few of those as well).

I’ll add this for the OP and everyone else, I’ve had a couple issues with A&T having small leakage during shipping and I know of one pr two others who had the problem as well. I have no idea what causes it and I won’t ship in the heat anymore but it’s also happened in cool weather.

The amount was minimal every time and the cage and cork were still well intact but I would definitely put it in a zip lock or air tight bag. One guy I shipped to kept the leaky bottle, opened it a few months later and said it tasted great. The other I replaced and drank the leaky bottle myself about a year later and it also tasted great.

In other words, I don’t think the leak effects the beer at all and it was so minimal you couldn’t tell it had leaked other than the thimble full of beer (or less) in the bag. I would just make sure you and your trading partner have an alternate plan or just keep it and don’t worry about it.

    GL OP!
