Not that often, I seem to want something different all the time.

If I do, it’s during the summer or fall months. Either Evil Genius Turtle Power or Bell’s Amber. Sunshine pils if we’re looking at really hot weather.

When fall seasonals come on, SA Octoberfest for my wife.

The only beer I’ll buy by the case is Pizza Boy’s Sunny Side Up. Love that beer!

The only reason for me to buy a case of beer would be me throwing a party, which doesn’t or didn’t happen much for the last year or so because covid.

Plus I also suffer from the illness known to craft beer drinkers as “palate fatigue”. No way I’m chugging the same beer, twice or thrice a day for a whole week. No.

Case in point: I was once a soldier and eating the same rations for a whole week became overly tedious. Would anyone eat ravioli for lunch and dinner for seven days in a row?

My wife has a girlfriend who eats a cheese sandwich every weekday for lunch!

When I was a young lad my father (and all my friend's fathers) would drink the same beer. That was the norm back then. And even today that seems to be the situation for mainstream/AAL beer drinkers. If their favorite beer is Bud Light (Dilly Dilly) they will purchase a case (or 30-pack) every time they go beer shopping.

We BAs seem to be a 'different breed' here:

Oh man. I remember back in the day buying multiple cases of Oktoberfest in late Sept/Oct. You know, to last me a little while longer.

...thats all I got to say about that.

I voted no because I normally don't. Like I recently bought a case and a half of a beer I really like from a brewery that hardly distributes because I'm moving out of the area. On the regular, I'm usually buying a 4/6 pack/week. I'd also say that when I do buy beer from a brewery, I will usually not buy a case of one brand (i.e. it'll be a mixed case).

    Nope!

I like variety and I am still learning and tasting.

A 12er here and there when my favorites are on sale in that format like Odell IPA, Bell's Two Hearted or Wibby Helles.

I voted yes, but my case purchases have been .5L bottles of imports so 20(?) bottles instead of 24.

The Germans would call that a crate of beer. Even 'better' than a case since you are getting a total of 338 ounces (vs. 288 for 24 twelve ounce bottles/cans).

Fall is indeed a great time to pop into a Hofbrauhaus, if you're near a city with one.

Still can't believe the one in Chicagoland closed. Might have been me moving away, given my frequency of visits.

The only time I purchase a case is when I come across Boulevard Brewing's "The Sixth Glass". One of my all-time favorites and don't see it that often. In fact in the five years I've been enjoying craft beer I've only bought 3 cases. Each last me about three to four months.

I voted yes. I recently purchased a case of Troegs Sunshine Pils and I’ll probably buy another case by the end of summer. Hacker pschorr Oktoberfest and Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale are another beer i will purchase by the case when it’s that time of the year. Sierra Nevada Bigfoot was another yearly purchase until recently. A six pack is good nowadays

Not since moving from the Mid Atlantic area.

There's simply no discernible benefit to buying a case where I live now. Craft beer is readily available pretty much everywhere, and it's not as if you get a case discount if you only buy craft. For parties, I typically buy crowlers and growlers. And then there's the freshness issue. I largely just buy apa's, IPA's and pils, and I want them to be as fresh as possible. At my rate of home beer consumption, it would take me two or three months to get through a case of beer.

So no... I haven't bought a case of beer in years.

That Hamms comment prodded me to look for 30 packs at Total Wine. There is none within 200 miles. Send us the Hamms Wisconians, don't you understand there is a heat wave out here?
