    The Executive Director of the ICBG was on the Heavy Hops podcast. In the last 10 minutes or so, she discussed the plans for future events this year including FOBAB. Beer under Glass is expected to move to August and be fully outdoors. FOBAB could have a smaller in-person event aspect as well as something like the FOBAB at-home.

    She said the "FoBAB at home" was very well received. I'd be interested if people really felt that way. I would not participate in it again.

    Admittedly my optimism might be clouding my interpretation but I thought she glossed over the in person aspect of the topic, as though it was a given. Her focus seemed to be on how to accommodate interest from participants apprehensive about/uninterested in attending in person.

    So the next question, what will be the first Chicagoland beer fest we see? Is Big North in August realistic or does HA have their hands full with brewery consolidation? Great Taste of the Midwest I would imagine has to happen now since it is outdoors and in WI(not really Chicagoland...yet:grin:. What other fun summer fests just might make a comeback in time?

    Great beer fest, but after reading the sexism in beer articles I’m not sure I want to take my wife around creepy brewers.

    Bumping this thread after almost 2 months--any word on FoBAB? Someone on BA has got to have an ICBG connection and willingness to leak (I realize this is practically begging for a @HouseofWortship pun), no?

    BUG is happening in August ... I wonder if they'd schedule FOBAB a few months later than usual rather than cancel for the second year in a row.

    Is the implicit assumption that the August --> November turnaround is too condensed to plan and hold both events, or just that since BUG was pushed back FoBAB will follow suit?

    Based on the calendar I was assuming that if it was going to be cancelled we would have heard by now but I looked back at last year's official announcement and it didn't come until August 6.

    I could see FOBAB being smaller scale this year with less breweries from far away. I just can't see them canceling again, too much money to be made!

    BUG being 50% reduced capacity and outdoor only has me slightly more nervous for FOBAB. Could be over-reading into things though
