I have had the same exact reaction to this batch of Edward, just unbelievable. I thought it was just me.

I got some S&S #4 too, which is predictably excellent, despite my typical avoidance of such high ABV hoppy beers. I felt like I HAD to get it...

Just had Edward on tap at Parker Pie. Agreed- this batch just hit right.

I am on board with this. Had Edward on tap at Big Fatty's in WRJ over the weekend and felt like it was the best Edward I have ever had...

Edward on draft always hits different.

As expected - taproom back open next week and curbside over. Sales had to be suffering. Will miss the ease of ordering and knowing exactly what I scored before making the trek from MA.

Taproom is not back open fully. It’s still by reservation only.

It’s just the retail that’s back to normal—as @MattOC said, taproom is reservation only, and it’s booked solid for the rest of the month.

    And they're dropping Damon.

    No thank you.

It’s a decent compromise, I guess. Don’t have to worry that anything you’re going for that day will sell out. And although you’ll likely still have to go on Wednesday for a big release, at least traffic will be spread throughout the day as opposed to the classic 11am (or earlier) shitshow.

The bottle and can lineup for this coming week is absolutely ridiculous.

Has anyone tried the pastry stout Damon yet?

Sipping it right now. I have not had OG Damon but it is very well put together. Roast character is prominently displayed followed by the barrel. Chocolate adds to the stout flavor but I am not sure I wouldn’t be able to say this was a chocolate stout. I am from Jersey and would say that Kane a night to end all dawns is generally my favorite ba stout, this is just behind it. I cannot pick out a thing wrong with it.

Sean would definitely not approve of labeling the most recent Damon as "pastry."

I got to visit for the first time this past week. I have to say I was able to order before hand and had a reservation for tasting and feel like this was not a typical visit as it was incredibly relaxed and I did not wait in a single line which is ideal.

one thing I noticed though on my cans is that the “best by” date is less than a month after the canning date. I do not get a hold of HF cans frequently, but I seem to remember “best by” being around 6 weeks for hoppys in past years. Is this “best by” specific to these beers or did they shorten the window?

If you’re talking about Edward I believe it’s always been given a shorter window than the others. Maybe it’s the same with some of the other “ancestral” ones but I’m not sure.

Not getting much of the cacao nibs but the beer is solid - moderately thick - bourbon dominates w/a little boozy heat on the finish. Weird how used to paying $30 plus tax for a single beer one can get in 2021.

Does anyone know when reservations for onsite will go up?
