Got a newsletter from Founders yesterday that their Octoberfest will be released at the pub store on 7/21 and sent into their entire distro footprint in August. It's in 6- and 15-packs of cans, plus kegs (except for Utah).

Releasing a beer historically intended for consumption in September/October in July. Sigh! :flushed:

    Non-cheers to season creep!! :slight_frown:

In my neck of the woods, a local brewery, Cibolo Creek Brewing, released their small batch of Oktoberfest on July 1st. On a regional level, Shiner just sent their Oktoberfest to the distributor, so it should hit shelves in the next few days.

edit* Altstadt Brewing has also released their Oktoberfest, but it is currently tap room only.

I am ok with seasonal creep and more than happy to have okto beers on the shelves early. My only gripe is September is usually the hottest month in my area and summer beers can be hard to find as they have been pushed off the shelves. Yes plenty of other light beers but I do have some summer beers that I like and are better when it’s hot. Not even 80 this week but come September it will be in the mid 90s.

I think that beer is made year round? At least I have seen it with reasonably fresh dates all year long in Nashville

Same old same old - yawn.....jeez, why are there never many complaints when holiday beers come out in Sept-Oct, or summer beers come out in March-April....you folks need to understand the beer business a bit better and how it is distro'ed.....this same type of comment every year gets a bit tedious

My jacks Abby copper legend alarm is going off. I wish it were released later, so I could enjoy it fresh during crisper days, but I can’t complain. The beer is so good.

That is 100% my position here.

Does Jacks Abby produce/release Copper Legend all at once or do they stagger batches?

I mostly purchase Sly Fox Oktoberfest beers and I make sure to only buy those that are canned no earlier then the end of August.

    Cheers!

I’m not entirely sure. They seem to give a shit, so I’d like to think they stagger it, but I don’t know. Maybe @JacksAbbyBrewing can chime in?

I have no doubt they give a shit but sometimes the logistics of planning batches of beers create a challenging situation. For some of the smaller breweries it is a case of you do the best that you can do.

    Cheers!

Glad to see Paulaner now canning/packaging the wiesn in 4-packs. I hope it follows their other offerings in that it's cheaper than the six packs.

Agreed. Until now the only canned option was the 1L can in the Maß, which I don't need any more of.
