Skillet fried chix chunks, shredded beets, red&yellow bell pepp, onion, generous amts of habanero hot sauce, secret spices, scallions, rice, fresh jalapeno, sea salt, greek olives, hummus. All on 2 toasted hot dog buns with a cold sharp cheddar slab...

Oh yeah, he was in in 80's and had gone through a lot of medical issues from hip replacement and cancer treatment. I think he continued to run his store for as long as he did just for something to do. If I wondered in with my pup, or one of other regulars all the better, and he wouldn't let you leave. It would be a conversation that lasted all afternoon. I met his wife at a concert we both had planned on going to years ago now, and then we all would plan on doing that at least once a year for a while, usually one of their sons would come along if they were in town as well.

He talked me out of buying the store about 5 years ago ha. He showed me how much he used to bring in back in the 80's and 90's, then how much now. Though he was never much for advertisement, they don't have social media accounts or anything. Anyway, I didn't which is probably for the best, I'd just buy everything for myself

 

I've never had the pleasure, but maybe one day...

Hot AF here BA's....95 feels like 99. Just washed the cars wheels and moved it into the shade. I'll wash it in an hour once it's cool to the touch. Boojum brewing Hop Fiend ipa while I wait....

I know some people hate hot weather, but I'll take 95 over 32 any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

 

Flasks from Proclamation Brewing. The taste is yummy, but it's insanely over-carbonated. Almost undrinkable. I'm going to stir it with a spoon like my grandmother would do with her ginger ale because she didn't like the fizz.

 

As Toby Keith says “I ain’t as good as I once was”, this beer was canned 6/14/19. I’m surprised by how much I’m enjoying it by the pool.
