Temperance right meet right berry stout with some homemade berry cobbler

 

Seven Island Brewing Cocoxocomisu. Imperial stout with toasted coconut, Honduran coffee, and Tahitian vanilla. Local enough I suppose. Fridge cold to the tulip. Half-finger mocha flash head…there, then poof! Leaves some little islands of lacing. Motor oil color and viscosity. Thing feels like it weighs two pounds. No discernible aroma with nose practically touching the liquid. Flavor profile at first had a metallic twang, but subsided after a sip. From there, it’s a dark doom malt, think the Melvins of malts, with a late semi-sweet finish from the coconut and vanilla. Chewy heavy mouthfeel, most likely from the coconut. 12% abv has no bite up front, but lurks around in the back, waiting to pounce as you take in more. The coffee comes in toward the end, that really earthy, dirty-in-a-good-way sort of pressed coffee vibe. Big can, heavy brew, so don’t plan on having many in one session. I bet a BBA version would really develop some complexities.

 

@basaywhat had cobbler, too. His fit in a glass, though.

 

SA Boston Lager. Great to see @DoctorZombies on Mackinaw Island today drinking beer. Only can get there by boat (or swim ) and no motors allowed on the rock. So lots of bicycles and horses are used to cart people around.

That cocozizzio is making the right side of my face sweat. The lacing has amplified as it warms. It’s pretty solid. Reminds me of a Mortalis’ younger brother.

Hoping concerts are still going to happen here. But we are trending the wrong way. The City of Chicago ( sure they are not alone ) just put out travel restrictions on us & our Hillbilly Brethren to the North ( Mizzou ). I've had my jabs, but I am now wearing my mask in most public places, just I don't pass it to some one else

 

Dinner at the watering hole with a Rock Bottom Pilsner (quite good), a Wibby Radler, and Four Noses Raspberry Blonde. At home with another ROS: Avery Opuntia (Feb 19, 2014). A good night. Cheers y'all.
