Also the ABV is so much easier to deal with than IPAs. I try to keep the amount of IPAs in my fridge to a minimum.

I always have a few on hand, but I try not to buy them by the four pack, singles if I can.

Oh man, is there anything better than coming home after a long work-week and hearing the doorbell ring for an unexpected beer delivery? No idea why UPS never updated my Notch beer of the month delivery status, I assumed that they f’d it up again as I was expecting delivery yesterday. But it is here now, chilling in the fridge, and all is right with the world (at least for a little while).

Made it to the speedway on Wednesday with some friends and really enjoyed it. Started with a mlíko pour of session pils to celebrate the first trip. The kolsch and cream ale were both delicious, land speed record a nice pale ale featuring Nelson, and I couldn’t resist a liter of Tmavy. Great night all around, I can’t wait to get back over there.

Starting with a mlíko pour of one of the OG’s and finishing with a liter of Tmavý, I like your style.

Also, this thread is now 16 pages long…I’m so proud of us.

Days like this I wish Brighton opened at noon like Salem does on Friday.

Haven’t been able to get back since the first soft opening night. Chomping at the bit for my next chance to go.

I asked last week and was told they weren't sure if it was going to be a "buy in" or "drink in" model for the mug club. Either way, I want in.

I think I might have already joined....secretly...I've been to Brighton 6 times since it opened.

See an opening, take it. Got over there for open today for a few: The Standard, Reel to Reel, and Session Pils. Going to be a great evening in the biergarten. Was great to be back and just soak in the sun.

I've said this before. Huge notch fan. My favorite brewery, beer. I work around Salem, go often. But man, big fat zero beer to go today, update your damn website. Went after work, zero beers to go. No hefe, no kolsch, no reel2reel. What gives? Is it that hard to update the website? How can you have zero to go options? Frustrating.

It's just so close, and so great. Having The Standard, on draft, almost whenever I want it....

It’s so close…but I haven’t been as much as I’ve wanted. Life happenings.

That said, was pleased to see The Standard on draft when I showed up today since it wasn’t listed on the web (flip side, Tmavy was and wasn’t there), never pass it up.

i don't know if they're at "straight from the tank" yet, since they brewed their first beers there this week.

I haven't found the taplist on the website to be reflective of the taplist on site but I've also not had any complaints. I live closeish, but not in the neighborhood. I've been 3 times and will find time to go again this weekend.

I will definitely get or work for towards a mug.

    Hey all!

I plan to take a trip to Notch for the Frist time for my birthday in early August. I'm a massive lager/German beer guy and plan to take a trip to the original Salem location. I'm traveling up from Colchester, CT, and it's a decently long drive. Any recommendations for a good place to eat around the area? Maybe like a mid range eating establishment? I know there is a lot in the city, but maybe something that prevents travel too deep into Boston would be preferred.

    Thanks!

What kind of food do you like (or don't you like may be the better question)? Also, are you trying for dinner in Boston or Salem (or anywhere in between)?

If you like seafood and want to grab dinner in Boston, Row 34 is your best bet. Great and varied tap list. Great wine list. One of the best raw bars in the city. It's in Fort Point so definitely not the outskirts of the city, but it's relatively easy to reach from the Ted Williams Tunnel (which you'll likely take when entering Boston from the North Shore).

So I'm pretty open on food, always willing to try something new. Is there anything in the immediate area? Or would my best bet be to travel towards the city?
