Went to the reopening of Equal Parts Brewing tap room. They use to be called Sigma, but changed their name. Now a bigger tap room and lots more taps.

With a wonderful Loggerbier, a great German Pils.

The new to me MK II Helles, which is also excellent. Review over at NBW thread, I put this as 4.13, A-
    [IMG]

And Vernal Marzen, again review over at NBW. While an OK American attempt at the style, its not as good as their other lagers, and not as good as the classics either. Just a B score for me.

Had a nice Korean lunch with friends of the GF, and did the whole when-in-Rome/Seoul thing with beer choice:

Simply inoffensive, slightly but not too sweet, and just a hint of something like lemon/lime citrus from somewhere.

Back home now and able to rewind and watch the back nine if the British Open leaders. Continuing the loose beer-to-experience tying with a Front Royal Emglish mild:

Came to me initially as a robust brown ale, but has turned a little more towards the darker malts with some dark roasted coffee bittering up the back end.

Happy Saturday! Have got a lot done so far, but trying to get a few more things done outside before the storm rolls in.

Shaping up to be a nice final day of The Open tomorrow. I don’t have much faith in Speith to hold on though.
Weihenstephaner Hefe. I didn’t get all the yeast outta the can :/

    cheers!

    How is it going, BAs?

This is my last attempt at any "Stout" from Untitled Art. Horrible, once again! Can these guys even make a Stout? It's brown, not black and it smells and tastes very artificial, even though the label says: "cocoa nibs, coconut flakes, apricot puree, peanut butter powder and milk sugar". The body is also very thin. This is a 10% ABV, caramel colored (or whatever else they use), artificially flavored beverage. Drain-pour!

    And I'm a fan of well-made Pastry Stouts/Porters.

It feels like I’m turning into liquid form over here... temperature has been in the 90s today, and my preferred rang is about 45 to 55. And yes, I had to look up how to convert to Fahrenheit. :grimacing: I wonder if they need appliance store managers on Greenland...

Adroit is usually our main destination, then we occasionally hit other places - Belly Love, Barnhouse, Vanish, and Bear Chase (which we want to get back to on a clearer day than when we visited before).

I'd enjoy seeing 1554 available on tap, personally

Seems you'll not be needing that firewood right away.

Well, not for warmth, at least.

That’s a shame. I was wanting to try that too. I had the PB&J stout of theirs a couple months back and found it to be pretty okay. Not the best one I’ve had but I was able to finish the 4 pk.

Drinking a Japanese Rice Lager from Bhramari Brewing
    [IMG]
I almost didn’t even give this brewery a try whIle visiting Ashville as their Untappd profile was full of hazies and pastry stouts. My wife was curious as they always had a crowd and it turned out that their beer menu was really diverse. Picked up a rauchbier & rice lager to go after a delicious lunch and several beers on tap.

    Cheers all!

Holy c... I think back to some of the old school bars I drank in many years ago and would love to have seen that being served. Probably would have started a riot.
    Was it at least good??

I had the XL Popsicle or whatever the fuck.
Was at a gathering and ran into another beerhead, fridge was full of seltzers and he had a Homer Bucket from Home Depot full of shit he bought at CraftBeerKings in El Monte. Talked ,told him about my hatred for the current fruit beer. He says,"dude take one and drink it when no ones looking "
I did. And it was good.

    Shame on me!!!

It was pretty good. I have found with the sugar bomb fruited "beers" that once in a while I enjoy them, and they have to be well balance for that style. Otherwise I burn out on them fast

LOL my story is very similar, one of the Drekker slushies was given to me and had to admit it was pretty tasty in the right circumstance (dessert)
