Short's Brewing (2021)

Im excited to try Island Chomper, I did not try it before when it was in bombers.

 

While Island Chomper was the fourth (?) Private Stache released, I remember it as being the first one with a ton of hype behind it. It was sold out in hours, which killed me, since back in '15 I got up to Bellaire in July and it released in June. At least now I finally get to try it.

I'd love to see all the Staches get a limited release at some point.

 

Look out for a new brew on the shelves:



Tiramisu Blonde is one of the holdovers from last year's schedule. I brought some home a week ago, and it's already gone. A bit heavy on coffee flavor initially, given a little time to warm the sweet vanilla and cocoa flavors dominate.

 

Keep an eye out for some Sour Parade...



I'm laughing my head off at the final paragraph. Imagine feeling the need to apologize for giving your customers what they want because some folks might be butthurt over "exclusivity."
Also, bringing up MOMF? Hilarious. Is anyone still upset over that? I thought it was an unworkable promise at the time, and had almost forgotten about it until now.

 

For the first time in six years, I visited the brewpub yesterday. The food was excellent as always. However, barrel aged Evil Urges on tap what is the highlight of my visit. It made me wish I could get more Private Stache bottles. It almost made up for the fact that the bottles I wanted sold out a few days before my visit.

 

If anyone's interested in Sour Parade (and you should be, it's good!) I suggest checking the shops as soon as you can. The place near me only got one case, and had it behind the counter, one bottle limit.
They didn't gouge on price, they just wanted to make sure as many people got to get some as possible.
So when Short's said this was super limited they meant it this time.

 

Aaaaand of course now my wife shows up home with a six pack. Busch's in Livonia just has them out if you're in the area and want a sixer

I assume Short's is trying not to step on the Sour Parade release announcement (maybe?) or someone forgot but Short's Shandy is out in the wild as a limited release for July.



A hair over 4% ABV for this one. Makes a great shower beer after a day outside doing yard work because the rain hasn't stopped for three weeks and the lawn is overgrown and the hedges are ugly and weeds are everywhere.

 

Just grabbed some fresh Melt my Brain, I really wish this was the summer seasonal, it is so good!

 

This latest batch of Controversiale is amazing! Probably the best I've had.

 

Hmmm, wish it was the hazy version, but Ill take any Controversiale I can get.

 

If would accept Hazy Spruce Pilsner if it meant that we got Spruce Pilsner.

 

Anyone hear any whispers on what's in the tried and true sampler due out next month? I see Pontius road Pilsner and Pandemonium are both on tap, Pandemonium is on tap in Elk Rapids. Maybe it's a clue that both of those are going to be in it.

 

I'd like to get my hands on some Pandemonium, it's been too long. And Pontius, too. I also wonder if it'll be a 12 pack or a mega-pack like last year's Hoppy Holidays. There's a few classics I'd like to see.

Sticky is on its way out, so grab it while it lasts.

My sister-in-law is at Short's as I type and is bringing back a six pack (along with a White Pepper and some Loop de Loop, haha). This early Private Stache has finally found its way to store shelves and will be found across the Great Lakes area and Colorado.
