It was also cool to see Marty selling cans of the DM coffee used to brew supermassive while we waited in line to go into the taproom. The DM coffee was legit!

 

Man... missed that. Marty was behind the bar on Friday helping out, then he was clearing empties around the taproom Talk about all hands on deck!

 

It can only be called Suppermassive if someone drinks the DM coffee afterwards and complains the DM coffee doesn't have enough coffee in it compared to Suppermassive.

When I arrived for my pickup this afternoon, the guy managing traffic looked familiar...because it was the head brewer, Jim Cibak.

He was helping out in probably the greatest Chicago summer weather (70 degrees, no rain?!) because he is both humble & very wise...it was glorious to be outside.

I was on a bicycle, with no one behind me, so I was able to express to him my appreciation for his contributions to the Chicago beer scene...which, now that I think of it, may be only second to Greg Hall...and shake his hand.

A small moment of joy amongst a very easy beer pickup for one of the most sought-after beers in America right now. I was out after 6 minutes...and 5 of those minutes were because I ordered a 2012 Straight Jacket and forgot about it, so the Rev employee had to jog into the taproom & grab it.

Revolution is a fantastic company that I'm glad to support. Huzzah!

 

That's a bad ass label. Not a fan of the format but as long as they don't replace the 12oz cans, I'll sign off on it.

All hands on deck for sure and it was a really smooth situation getting the draft pours. They served everybody fast and it wasn’t packed crazy full

 

Yes, it was a total surprise and indication of what a classy operation Rev is running to see Jim directing traffic and welcoming people as they drove up. I'm sure most people had no idea who he was.

 

This is fully insane and I’m here for it.

 

FYI variants haven’t tapped out yet. Not many people right now. Boss is super delicious.

How do the new batches of VSOJ, Supermassive and Strawberry Jacket compare to the previous ones? I skipped the taproom crowd and most posts so far have been about the variants. I still have some of the previous VSOJ and Strawberry, but I'm waiting to do a side-by-side tasting until a friend gets back into town at the end of summer. I'm curious what you all think (not just Josh Noel and the Rev crew's takes).
