Sitting at the bar at BWLB and listening to Gabe regale people with stories... Nature is healing

Also, Voice of Resin is a fantastic WCIPA. The Pahto Pilot is also worth your time. Super crushable

New/old beers for their anniversary next week:

Hoptical Telescope. It envelops everything Beachwood enjoys in the style of being hugely aromatic and supersaturated with hoppy goodness from Mosaic, Strata, Ekuanot, Idaho 7, and Sultana.

    2. Bringing back our 5th-anniversary bourbon barrel-aged barleywine, Barrelogenesis! Decadent malts are boosted to massive richness by aging in freshly emptied Wild Turkey barrels.

Also chatted with Square about when the Blendery will be reopening. He said they're hoping for late Summer early Fall. Part of the problem is BWLB's glycol chiller blew (those who follow Julian on IG probably saw his post about it), so they're using the Blendery's until they can get a replacement glycol chiller. So Square said even if they could reopen right now, there would be no way to pour beer over there

Just picked up their 10th anniversary releases, Hoptical Telescope and Barrelogenesis (a revival of the beer they made for their 5th anniversary). Missed out on the $5 swag bags though. Kyle said they had a line when they opened and they got gobbled up quick; I made my trip after work which was about an hour before they were set to close so only the Small size bags survived by the time I arrived.

How’s the 10% HopTel? That’s getting close to a triple. Heavy on the bitter side?

We were there when they opened and hung out at the bar and had a great time.
Had the new Hop Tel on draft and it's another great Beachwood IPA. Not that bitter, I think the alcohol tones it down a bit but full of flavor. Usually at 10% you start to get that triple IPA syrup-like smoothness but this still has a nice hop bite and long finish. Pick some up.

I assumed going into this that it would be a base similar to Greenshift (mainly two row with some kind of pilsner malt): same alcohol content while still pretty crisp and clean. I'm typing this particular part as I just poured the first can...

This part is after trying and spending some time with it with casual impressions: very reminiscent of Greenshift, the bitterness is highly assertive, but like all of Beachwood's WCIPA offerings, it's rounded on the palate and doesn't aggressively attack the tip of your tongue or overload you in the finish. Aroma is pretty dense and no one hop stands out to me in particular. Lots of clean citrus (orange & lime mostly) and tropical fruit (pineapple especially) character, with some melon, pine and tea underneath. The melon from Strata and tea from Idaho 7 are much more forward on the palate than I would have gathered from the aroma, mostly toward the finish. Mouthfeel is crisp but has a bit of sticky/resin quality to it and there's some bite in the finish which lingers quite a bit.

If you like Greenshift, this is in the same ballpark.

2 4pk limit for Street 3 Block 2. Guess myself and the others saying we were gonna buy a case wasn't a good idea...

I was thinking I’ll go easy and only grab 4 4-pks then they posted the limits and damn, I guess 2 4-pks it is. LOL!

Street 3 Block 2 wasn't available for online ordering and I wasn't going to be able to make it there until late on Saturday. Didn't want to risk missing it so I asked a friend who picked up a 4PK for me.

Beer run Friday I’ll pick some up at the HB location. I don’t think Windsor will get any because of the very limited release. But you never know. Scott is the man in OC. Mike too.

S3/B2 is tasting so fresh and clean out of the can. A great way to start off this 5 day weekend. Beer run Friday done. Enjoy.

Picked up a S3B2 yesterday and I love that this was their first beer in this series and not some kind of silly hype beer. Not that I’d expect silly hype beers from Beachwood, but it makes me happy nonetheless.

The Instagram post said it wouldn't see any distro and would only be available at their locations.
