Everyone knows that batch 2 of a hyped, limited beer is never as good as batch 1.

BBT begs to differ. That is the exception and not the rule though.

Well, that and Doug pouring samples and the saxamaphone guy saxing the afternoon away (though during one release on a particularly cold day, his reed and/or valve kept freezing up)!

I had a similar experience, though it started out awkwardly when I called out "Whoa, it's a famous brewer guy working on a Saturday!" We ended up having a good 10-minute chat with him.

Aaaaaaaaand I didn't wait in line but picked up both stouts from MoRE when I finished with work at 2pm.

THIS is what I'm trying to avoid. I shared a can on Friday night, but am concerned I will have one at home by myself, and immediately order more on the Rev site.
In 5-7 weeks they will announce the new lineup that will be available starting in 12 weeks. I really need to exercise some self control. :grimacing::flushed::astonished:

Say what you will about b1 vs. b2, but after a SJ and a VSOJ tonight I’m extremely tempted to go grab another VSOJ and just drink it at cellar (basement, let’s be honest) temperature.

How close are we to monthly packages Deep Woods releases? Given all the extra releases like this current one, we have to be getting close.

I went Saturday to pickup beers with my parents who were in town visiting from Montana and brought Big Kids for lunch (which if you haven't had yet, highly recommend) to try everything new. Had all the draft only (XOJ was my favorite) and then had all three canned samples. Unfortunately had a separate family emergency so couldn't really savor the experience but just wanted to say what a great and smooth release and really nice to be back in the taproom having 5 oz pours rather than trying to crush 32 oz of a 15% beer. Can't wait for the new '21-'22 DW releases! Also want to say how nice it was to talk with Jim at the start of the line while waiting for cars to clear the stations.

A little birdy gave me some hints:

EVERYTHING will be tequila barrel aged.
    Including VSOS...Very Special Old Seltzer.

Fingers crossed for more of that Thundertaker! And since VSO is fresh in our minds, I'm going to put in my request for some Very Special Old Mineshaft.
