Nothing in my comment implies that it improves the user experience here, I’m only poking fun at all the commenters who overreacted about this monumental change, and are probably still using the site almost in exactly the same way as they did before.

I was bitching, but I’m still using the site the same way.

Hopefully it improves the site and increases traffic and conversation. And if not, I assume they’ll switch back. But a certain period of time needs to go by to properly assess it.

 

I can literally only think of one person who said they were leaving because of this change. Who are these posters you're speaking of?

Frankly, the "outrage" seems to have come largely from the folks who threw a fit about the fact that anybody complained even mildly about the change.

 

I was referring to the commenters at large suggesting that this was a large annoyance worthy of their consternation. Yes, I do think there was only one person who hilariously talked about leaving due to the change... there were many more suggesting that this was a meaningful, big change that would impact their use of the site.

And sorry for the confusion, but nothing in my comment suggests that I’m “outraged” or even perturbed by this.

 

But you are suggesting that their annoyance was a large annoyance worthy of your consternation and need to comment? And then my annoyance now at your annoyance is a large annoyance worthy of my consternation which might cause annoyance and consternation on your side causing you to further post about my annoyance which might lead to widespread annoyance and consternation, it will never end.

 

I was not, no lol -- sorry for the miscommunication, but I have no clue how my comment could have come off as particularly annoyed. I was laughing about it and admitted that any concern over it was petty.

 

My comment was more of a joke, you didn't intend your comment to be construed as being annoyed in the same way that most of us probably contributed to this thread with the intention of it being a debate, not being a complaint fest. Sometimes these things end up being different than we intended (to be clear I believe that you aren't annoyed). This whole thread is much ado about nothing and I really should probably just be quiet now and not post on here again.

I don't participate in any of the "what beer are you drinking now" threads. I post enough as it is on this site, so I actively don't get involved with constant running threads like that.

I think it's an awesome concept though and people really seem to enjoy it, which is awesome!

 

Those threads always seem like the people in them enjoy them. I’ve tried to join the fun, but it turns out that I just really don’t give a shit what you’re drinking right now. I want to, I just don’t.

For me the threads get massive quick and there’s only so many threads I can keep up with.

Also, I only drink on weekends and when I am I’m largely off Beeradvocate enjoying the company of others or out drinking somewhere.

 

Even if (in its prime) the Other Half thread reeks of hot garbage almost as much as Centre street in the summer (anybody remember when they'd leave the spent grain out beside the line?), all our new Northeast Pals are welcome to join our Other Half Meetup aka NYC BA Meetup aka @Feaor Fest.

Well the New Englanders should be happy now that DC, Maryland, and Delaware have been exiled to the South region.

While it would seem to make sense to keep MD/DC/VA together, and to keep the Delmarva peninsula together- with the Southeast being merged with the Southwest, they are now in the same region as Arizona! Now that makes the Pennsylvania to Maine spread look piddly.

 

The South now has 4 times zones (3 in the winter). MLB should do this, Nationals should play in the same division as the Diamondbacks gives us that local rivalry vs them playing in far away Philly all the time.

 

Yeah, I'm a little confused by the move. The Southeast forum is kinda quiet besides my guy @TomCat11 posting RVA updates. The DC thread was more lively than that entire forum IMO. I don't think that coupling all of those states together does anybody good as it waters down visibility. But I guess we'll wait and see how it goes...
