I’m a big fan of howling Wolf taqueria in Salem. Real close to notch.

Thanks. Good to know. Not super up on them, but was trying to give @Arminius757 options closer to Salem.

    Settler.

You can grab some tacos at spitfire and eat them at notch, as well.

I've haven't been to either place, but I know many people who like Bambolina (Italian / pizza) and Ledger (upscale American). The view at Sea Level (seafood) is great, but I though the food was only ok. Gulu-Gulu Cafe is a funky spot with a good beer menu, but probably not what you're looking for dinner.

Nightshade Noodle Bar in Lynn (going back towards Boston from Salem on route 1a) is outstanding.

Salem and Beverly have a pretty good restraraunt scene - there are a bunch of breweries in Beverly now too. I grew up in the area, but I'd defer to someone who loves there now and is more plugged into the scene.

For those that have the monthly subscriptions, have you mainly been happy or extremely happy? Considering a subscription.

Ate at Leger recently on a recommendation and it was indeed very good (get the popovers with beef ju as an appy!). It'll feel like you're in a downtown Boston type of restaurant which is a good thing depending on what you're looking for, but you'll also pay Downtown Boston prices unfortunately.

Shouldn't have any issues running out this year, or at least a bit more longevity…believe Chris didn’t even get some last year -

I have been very happy with the beers, and extremely happy with Notch’s customer service. Less happy with UPS, but eventually I get my beers (hence the great rating for Notch’s customer service).

You have to understand that you’re going to get whatever they have available at the moment. July’s shipment was 6 kolsch and 6 cream ale, perfect for Summer. Previous shipments have included The Standard, the smoked helles, a British bitter (yum), a German Pils, a pale ale, a Polish lager, etc… (not in all in one shipment, usually 4 of 3 different beers)

Do I LOVE every beer that they make? No. Are they all great examples of the style? Yes, just not my favorite styles (but still tasty).

I say pull the trigger on a 3 month subscription and judge for yourself. You can always extend it.

I wonder/hope that the German Afternoon Pils and the Lost in the Dream helles rauchbier are in the next box!

This is very accurate. Ledger is probably top of the list in Salem and you are going to pay for it. I will say the quality has always matched the price, so I guess thats a good thing?

Trigger has been pulled on a 3 month subscription. German Afternoons and Pitch Lined Pils coming soon was all I needed to see. Everything else is a cherry on top.

I see the Altbier is available for purchase as well. Was that just canned?

Went for a run after work and drank a U as my recovery drink. It was my first time having it. Loved it. Had a reel to reel after. Good to have 12 notch in my fridge again.
