Now don't go getting your hopes up. Stores don't have to give you a case price, but it doesn't hurt to ask. My store does not do it, and I have no clue what percentage of stores will say yes. And it may only be $3-$4 savings for a case so you need to decide if that beer is really what you want because you'll have a case of it to drink.

You could always start homebrewing. Big upfront costs on equipment, but if you purchase base malt by the sack, order hops by the pound, reuse yeast, and don't mind a little elbow grease, you can get ~2 cases or a sixtel for pretty cheap if you're into classic styles.

    1) Decide what else you can cut back on to reallocate the savings to your craft beer habit, and/or 2)adjust your expectations and stop treating good craft beer as an everyday drink. Easier said than done, I know. Personally I prefer option 1.

If you're having several drinks over the course of the night at a bar, here's what I did back in my mid-20s. First drink would be craft beer of choice, then order a rail shot with draft macro lager as chaser. Macro lager for the rest of the evening.

I agree totally. Local new or not great breweries charging $20, and I can get some great stuff for $12 from larger, more established breweries.

Are you currently living in America Samoa?. Let’s start there and let us know what craft beer offerings you get on the Island. From that info we can let your know best bang for your buck craft beer offerings.

Love it! Slippin’ Jimmy McGill is my hero. What crazy cons he comes up with. Good avatar choice. Back to beer… yeah 6 packs are always better deal over 16oz 4 pack cans from a price per oz standpoint as a general rule. 12 packs even better and you can get variety packs if you like variety for a good deal. Cases even beer if you are content with a lot of 1beer. As far as specific beers/brewers… Sierra Nevada and Oscar Blues seems to frequently be some of the best quality to price ratios along with other larger regional and National distributors. I still think Old Chub is the best value beer 6er I frequently see, but you need to have to enjoy that style of course.

Fortunately I have extremely good options to choose from for great value if not budget oriented (Jack's Abby, Von Trapp, and a few NJ brewers).

Ymmv, but I've also been having a bit of fun lately exploring the 'plus sized' section of the store fridge section and have found a few that I'm happy to keep going back to. It also helps that a lot of the big cans can be had for under $1.50 each. They make for a nice supplement to the regular shopping order and help keep costs down.

I can't even get 6packs of 16 ounce cans locally anymore. I used to depend on it and Rainier for my AAL fix.

Do you happen to know why production was stopped (for a while)?

    Cheers!

IIRC, they stopped production due to the can shortage. I.e. they allocated cans to their biggest selling brands.

Shoot, I saw Fiddlehead in a gas station and drove past the brewery, might have been a brew pub but did not grab any, had a Fiddlehead sign out front anyhow.

    Enjoy

The didn't say anything about cans in the email..they just said they were focusing on other products that were in demand
But Im sure the can shortage is one of the reasons why also
