I second you on the original Broken Blender as I loved that beer. Disappointed in the new version. I think it's the Jamaican rum barrels this time around (and possible lack of coconut rum barrels) that did it in for me. The beers I've had aged in Jamaican rum are usually way to rum-harsh for me (see any Modern Times Jamaican aged beer). However, this year's was still evocative of a Pain Killer cocktail, just one with a really heavy rum taste versus a more balanced taste from what I remember the original.

I will say however that I really dug the "Will It Blend?" tap variant. The coconut mellowed out the rum quite a bit, though I did drink through my pour pretty quick, so it didn't have time to get up to outdoor temperature which is where the rum really popped up in Blender.

Your review may have saved me quite a bit of money. Thank you. Haha
I think the coconut rum barrel is what put it over the top last time.

Looks like it’s dropping tomorrow based off of their most recent Instagram post.

I’m here now. 21 is pretty delicious.
And I take back what I said about Broken Blender. This is pretty damn good. I’m not maxing out, but I’m leaving with a few bottles. Tons of coconut (but I don’t get much pineapple).

Popped this year's batch of FO, it's solid, maybe an 8/10. If you liked number crunch you'll like this one. I didn't get a massive amount of vanilla.

At times the body seemed a little on the thin side, but could be because it's fresh. Made me wonder if the double mash blend was to help thicken the base.

Hey guys! Anyone got the deets on the new batch of Details & Dialects? Here's looking at you @rmpic82! Were you able to secure a bottle? What you think?

Hey there, Lucius. I did get a few bottles thanks to a bad ass proxy. So, for me, Details & Dialects goes back to a cool Kentucky morning in September 2019. My cousin and I were waiting in line for the 4R SMBLE release and we popped a D&D at around 5 am to pass the time. We were both floored about the components working in harmony to create a boozy peach cobbler in a glass. Phenomenal. Fast forward to two weekends ago. My bottles made it in time for me to meet up with my cousin while he was in town for a softball tournament. We both drank it out of a capped travel mug, so I kind of have to say inconclusive on how good it is. Outdoor setting, warm weather, less ability to put my sniffer in a snifter…very uncontrolled environment. When first poured it had that same boozy peach, cinnamon nose. My first inclination is to say that it was maybe dialed up on the sweet peach which took over some of the other factors. Recently, I have been enjoying a lot of BL’s releases with a little time on them. I suspect D&D will hit its prime after awhile but I’d love to hear what others have to say about their experience. Cheers!

Thank you so much, bro, for that "Detailed" review! I appreciate the time it took to do that...That settles it for me! I was always going to get a bottle, but now I know to get 3! (One to solodome, one to share, and one to sit on for a while! LOL!) A pricey proposition when buying it distro! Thanks again!

Had the chance to try this year's FO on tap, it's definitely a step up from 2020's batch. None of the weird fruitiness that was present in last year's and a lot more vanilla forward this time around. Still a bit thin on the body, though.

Drinking a bottle right now and this is the best batch since b3 in my opinion. Weird berry notes are gone and I’m getting lots of chocolate and caramelized sugar. I think the body is actually pretty good on it, nice mouthfeel. Not super thicc but definitely not thin either, double mash certainly helps. Still not as good as b3 or b1, especially when it comes to vanilla presence, but this is the closest it’s been in years.

Wow! This is fantastic! This is like Grandma's caramel cinnamon peach cobbler with a shot of whiskey added! Ha! The aromatics on this are :fire::fire::fire:!

Looks like based on the hint that just dropped on IG, FOMO is finally being released in bottle format tomorrow. Four years in the making y’all, didn’t think this day would ever arrive!

This year’s FOMO is, I think, the most coffee-forward beer I have ever had from Bottle Logic. As soon as I cracked the bottle, coffee aromas exploded into the room before I even poured it into a glass. I don’t really consider myself a coffee person, but I’ve always been pretty fond of coffee stouts when executed well.

I thought based off the nose that this beer might steer into the “too much coffee” territory for me, but I was surprised after my first sip. There is tons of coffee there, no doubt about that, but it’s not a particularly bitter roast and it’s pretty soft on the palate. Just like this year’s batch of FO, the body is great (double mash for the win). The coffee is immediately followed by a really nice chocolate-y, nutty note, and everything is smoothed out by a well-balanced barrel presence. Overall, I really enjoy it. The only negative thing I might say is that it has a bit of a dry finish that I’m not particularly fond of, but it’s very subtle. Other than that, it’s a great offering.

I drank a bottle tonight. Almost all coffee and only a slight vanilla sweetness (maybe?). I thought the body was excellent though. Thicker than FO, IMO. It was fine. Not sure it was worth buying two bottles of it though.

Is it like chewy dry or chalky or something? I tend to think of big old pastry stouts finishing dry as an extraordinary feat. I think of it as the other end of the spectrum of wet and gooey, sticky or slimy and all that, which is what I experience from lesser breweries like Mikerphone, Horus, and the like.

Anyway, great review. Never had a FOMO myself, (most past versions have been draft only, no?). Sounds delectable.

Hoping FOMO hits distribution. I love me some strong coffee forward stouts.

I'm not a coffee drinker unless it's in beer or has so much cream and sugar that its essentially melted ice cream. Saying that, I thought FOMO was pretty good, but I would have preferred more vanilla and a creamier mouthfeel personally. I did think 2017 and 2018 versions were a little better, but they weren't producing it to this scale before.

If I had more time when I went in and grabbed bottles this weekend I would've done an FO - 25-40% / FOMO - 75-60% mix, which probably would've been the sweet spot for me. I'll have to try it with bottles later.
