Big beer now, Kasteel Donker. 11%.

After getting dissed by a French custom lady, I’m hopeful @RaulMondesi gets closer to me. I will need another beer or two and he does too after this long flight.

Historical anecdote: France and the US have never been officially at war, minus some slight tensions during the Dubya era.

You guys have been of great help in 1917 and 1944 on the Euro theater. Seemed like you returned the favor for us helping a bit y’all to get rid of the King of England then.

    Cheers buddy!

[IMG] Found an old OLD bottle of homebrewed imperial stout in the back of the fridge while cleaning up. So what the heck. Let's do it. The batch got away from me during the first day of fermentation and pitched a LOT of esters. It's been chilling in bottles for 7 to 8 years at this point. Nose is burned sugar, booze, dark chocolate. Maybe a hint of cherry in there from the esters that are still lurking. Maybe a slight infection. Thick mouthfeel, slightly carbonated and creamy. Flavor is dark chocolate covered cherries and burned sugar. Still boozy. Still big. Surprising little oxidation. Go team! Seems to have gotten better with time. Who would have thunk it? Cheers!

Drinking Battery Steel Flume Double IPA. Brewed just up the road from
me, I assume at Singlecut. Very good haze

Really, can't imagine the French being rude to an American tourist. Totally unheard of

Have a good Sunday. Put in my 2 weeks at circle k last week since I can't stand the job and I should be starting up my engineering job this month remotely anyways. Still working on getting the move together to NC. Should have the official news from the contract house this week. My boss has been off for 2 weeks, I had the interview the Friday before he left work. The second interview with the lead engineer was the next week. GF still is too nervous to move out of Ohio right now, but I have to go because Ohio doesn't have any engineering jobs for me or whatever. Never had any luck here my whole life. Got to hang out with one of my friends I haven't seen in a while last night. He was house sitting for his brother and his dogs. I had fun and came home to play chess and Jurassic World Evolution.

Made some leftover fried chicken this morning. Was outstanding.

First full review in over 2 months. Sixpoint Trail Haze. This has been in my fridge since November probably. Great Session NEIPA. Good head retention and lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, passionfruit, pineapple, berries, citrus peel/zest, peppercorn, wood, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, woody, herbal, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation, light bodied and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/grainy malt and sticky hops, light resins. Lingering bitterness with no residual sweetness. Pretty refreshing. No lingering harsh bitterness. Great new world hop profile. Flavorful and good body for the ABV and calories. No complaints. 4
