Going camping in a few weeks and need some “drink from the can” beer. Looking to get at least 4 4pks. I will fill out the box with other local cans as well on my end. Other options if your not the Barleywine type:
    Rye Black Gold + cans
    BA Pressed Reserve + cans

Preference to do trade with a BAer from Vermont (ensure freshness)
    Cheers!

For clarity, this is one can of VSOJ b2 + locals?

If this is 1 can of VSOJ with a side of extras for 16+ Heady....

It’s actually not a big ask. $50 for the Heady compared to $75 and up on secondary for a single can of VSOJ.
Love it how ppl think since deep woods comes in 4pks one can is not enough for a trade on anything. Funny.
    Cheers!

Ah, the good ‘ol “my (generously-estimated) secondary for your primary” exchange. I know Heady doesn’t have much secondary value anymore, but I’d be willing to bet it’s still more than $12.70 a four plus tax.

Good luck either way, someone local might be willing to do you the favor.

I think one can of VSOJ and a mix of locals (hopefully one or two more deepwoods cans) would be a fine trade. maybe OP can split shipping on the heady?

For me it’s more about the hassle. Like you said, for the cost, why wouldn’t I just pay the secondary to have one can of VSOJ shipped to my door? Let’s not act like it’s the same as driving to get the Heady, packing them up, paying the shipping, driving them to the shipper, and the added risk of shipping two ways vs one. That being said I’d rather have one can of VSOJ in my fridge than 16 headys ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Am I the only one caught up on the Rye BG option? Oddly enough, earlier this year I traded a 4 of Heady, a 4 of Focal, and a mix of HF cans for Rye BG and CW Double Barrel Stout.

Do with this info what you will...

I guess I got screwed when I traded my rare 15 for 2 cans of vsoj. I should have asked for 6 cuz the rare was 75 a bottle when it came out?

I always get a kick out of it when the trade lord only uses secondary on one side of the trade. What's good for the goose is good for the gander

This a steal. Heady hits for 14 a 4 pack. With the extra added on a dope beer like VSOJ...... Just do it!

I’m right there with you @7irondave. Normally I don’t like to give my 2 cents but that comment about secondary for one side of the trade makes you sound like a jerk off. How bout we don’t try to rip other people off and just trade good beer for good beer? These are the kind of people that give BA a bad name. And people wonder why trading here has fallen off?

Trading has fallen off because they zucked whiskey trading, let’s not kid ourselves.

As for @7irondave just because it’s listed on MBC for that price does not mean that is market price, as you can see that hasn’t sold yet. That’s a slippery slope to refer to MBC when trying to determine values

I'm not trying to determine 'market price.' The OP here did that here. I was merely amused that he only mentioned secondary for the beer he was scalping.

Maybe that cleared my up previous post for you. Sorry for any confusion

@TomFoolery_x i don’t disagree with you that getting rid of whisky is doing trading a disservice. However this isn’t whale advocate. Heady doesn’t trade for whisky. OP didn’t get a deal done because of his cutthroat comments about secondary values. There was a time when you didn’t have to quote secondary values.

Just gonna say one more thing. I know the whole secondary vs retail dialogue rubs folks the wrong way, but I'm still confident an active BA'er with great feedback would definitely help even out things once a conversation was started. Again I see nothing wrong with the ask.

I think what rubbed people the wrong way may have been the tone and explanation of the ask rather than the ISO itself. I agree that if they had asked for exactly the same thing and said something along the lines of "hey I know that this is a your primary to my secondary trade, so rest assured that I'll throw in some extras on my end to make up the difference!" That's... not what happened lol.
