Damon Galgut's (a South African writer) new novel is excellent so far, already listed for the Man Booker Prize. Since he is getting all sorts of comparisons to J.M. Coetezee (which I would agree with), I'm putting him as the favorite to win it this year.

24 hours on the beat and in the North of France. Drank some champagne and assorted beers tonight. Just enjoying time with Miss Raul and these new, wonderful people in my life:

 

Airbrush IPA.

 

Jealous, I love that beer and think 512 has done a great job with bottling their classic offerings. Last time I saw it on the shelf at Total Wine a couple of weeks ago, it was bottled in November Those would all be in my regular rotation if I could find them fresh.

 

Got a mixed case and brought some to a party last weekend. This is the only one of these I ended up getting to try. Why did I get only one four pack?!

 

Phenomenal brew. I mean really.

Then the smoked Brisket Baguette. Legit brisket, house baked french baguette, pickled veggies, and spicy peppers, with foi gras

 

Guayabera as I watch the pool cleaner do it's thing. Just got a text that masks are required at work again, even if vaxed. So, I've had 4 11 hour days without a mask of the last 540 days, just saying, not trying to start $hit....

I can't watch the wire hanger scene because it's to disturbing to me. I hate seeing kids scared and abused.

 

Broad Street Stout by Red Tank. A well done standard no frills stout, which is fine by me. Earthy malt char is the most prominent flavor and it is a pleasant afternoon sipper. Thanks once again to @HoppingMadMonk for the beer. Cheers

 

Got some heavy rain coming down right now. Time for another beer.
