I'm also surprised they didn't find a way to sneak a white ale in there.

If I lived in the states I would be all over that pack.

Has anyone seen Festbier in 6-packs? I want to try it, but would prefer to avoid buying the mix pack. I hated Jack-O last year and don't want to buy more of it.

Unfortunately don't think that we will, as Jack-O appears to be the seasonal this year along with Oktoberfest.

I just posted the first BA review of this beer and also shared in the New Beer Weekend thread. Feel free to check it out. Here's a picture

It's neither bad, nor especially good. At least it's clean and not loaded with caramel malt.

There are labels for both cans and bottles in the article announcing the release -- looks like the Sweater Weather pack is bottles -- I'm keeping hopes up for single packs of the Fest.

I almost bought the mixed pack today. Then I looked closer and noticed that it was the summer 12 pack. There were lots of them piled up. I doubt that the fall will show up before the summer sells out. That might be never.

agreed. I had high hopes but it’s pretty forgettable. The sam adams house yeast flavor is probably what I noticed most. It’s not as sweet or heavy as the Oktoberfest. But it’s not a very nuanced beer, at least to this palate.

My local Old Chicago has the normal Oktoberfest (not this one), and I'd say it was the best one I've had from them in years. After years of it getting sweeter and simpler, the one I had yesterday was pretty damn respectable. That actually makes me more eager to try this one, even if it means I have to buy a mixed 12'er.

Sounds like it isn't worth the purchase then. I am pretty sure that Boston Lager would still be my favorite in the pack, because their Marzen really isn't very good compared to almost any other one I can get.

Drinking a Festbier right now. My thoughts are that they need to put it in a standalone 12 pack and I'll buy multiple every year.

keeping my eyes out for this one, but I don't think anybody is buying that Summer Pack so it might take until the very end of their recommended shelf life to see the Fall Pack.

This is one of the downsides of seasonal variety packs, retailers will not order the next season pack until they deplete their stock of the current season's variety pack.

    Cheers!
