Took a couple of PTO days, unfortunately I got a bad case of poison ivy on my face and neck / shoulders - helping the gf pull some ivy off her fence at her new house - saw the p. ivy, thought I avoided it, but got it bad anyway - not fun....
Nothing to do but a little morning drinking while t-storms start rolling in....

My wife once ran my glasses through the dishwasher. I wanted to get mad but then I was like, maybe I should just wash the glasses as soon as I’m finished. Likewise, my responsibility, my loss. Good to see you’ve got other sweet glassware. Cheers brother!

 

I break most of my glasses when I throw my dogs tennis ball. Perhaps, it's not a good idea to throw it inside.

 

Good morning, BAs! It’s been about 6 months since I last posted here. There are a variety of reasons for my absence, but I won’t go into that. I felt I had to post today though, since I have marked 9 straight birthdays on this thread, so it felt stupid to miss out on #10.

I don’t usually start my day with an 11% ipa, but today is anything goes. Also this is labelled as a triple ipa…I had my heart set on a quad

Prednisone is your friend for a miserable case of poison ivy. It's in my chart at my doc's office saying to prescribe it for me with just a phone call.

Good morning BAs, and thanks to @Ozzylizard for opening up this morning…another lazy morning for me so far, time for my coffee - Funky Buddha’s “Void Shaker” an Imperial Stout aged in High West bourbon barrels:



Best By date March 4, 2023. Poured at 58°. Black with ruby edges; fizzy tan head; poor cap retention; solid ring at first, then nothing; same for the initial spots of lace; no legs on swirl. Chocolate, bourbon, oak nose. Taste is oaky bourbon, a little vanilla, and chocolate; not sweet; dry oaky finish. Dry wooden popsicle stick tongue coating; medium minus body; no warmth from 11% abv; light carbonation. Overall, the mouthfeel is too wooden/dry for me; the barrel flavors push aside the base; and it’s thin for the abv; an ok BBA imperial stout.

Agree doc, we've had 50 positive tests in our plant since 8/1. Oh, and tropical storm Fred will be blowing thru on Saturday.....

 

Yeah, another "Deutschland lite" beer today; just wrapped up the last 5.5 mile run before Saturday's half-Marathon. Felt good this morning, wish I'd tapered a wee bit more, but legs are fresh and feelin' ok and injury free. Fingers Crossed. Welcome back @CanConPhilly - good to see you again here, and HBD!... Good to take breaks. Might try to do that at some point this coming winter.
