What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #3220

Nah. I can't take it with me and Mother just passed away and I have an inheritance. It won't buy a car but it can buy a computer. It would make a down payment on a Hellcat.

A bought on a whim, Squier made in China Paranormal Toronado from the good folks at Sweetwater. I thought worth a shot at the price point. I bought with trepidation given my thoughts of Squier from my youth (I wouldn’t have touched their products with a 10 foot pole).

And this one? After paying $60 to Sweetwater for a heavier string set-up (.10 - .46) to help with tuning stability?

I’m actually really impressed. The neck plays beyond its price point. Reportedly the humbuckers are Fender / Squier take on Seymour Duncan JB’s - output of approx 16 ohms!

This was for once a cross my fingers purchase that worked out well. It probably would sound good in a trio…

And the paint job is a beautiful sparkly metallic blue that would look good on this Toronado’s namesake.



Oh, and I’m having a beer.

 

Mountain Time. A lager brewed by New Belgium. I have had better lagers. And worse lagers.

Forgot that I had one about two months ago (and I had reviewed it). I probably would have not included this in the “Build Your Own Six-Pack” I bought the other day.

 

General Scottish ale.

 

I admit I laughed out loud when I saw this at the Smithsonian. My wife and kids had no idea why I was taking a photo.

Moving along BA’s as a friend of ours likes to say. The King is always a welcome addition to the beer fridge and in my glass, cheers!

Funky Bunch, a wild/sour raspberry beer from Boneyard in Bend, Oregon. Bought it at the brewery in March, in fact.

 

This week's emotional sunset piece is dedicated to @tasterschoice62! Happy birthday! The beer is Old Nation Brewing 70+.

 

Some of the Squires are pretty nice guitars, sounds like you got a good one!! Enjoy!

That's what it's all about!!

 

I am now enjoying a Hello Cape Cod IPA from Tree House. For a lot of breweries this would be a 5.0 beer, but after having their 4-5 legendary ones it rated a 4.01. It may be exactly what they were after, but in the tasting world of is it a 5.0 beer for me, no but still delicious.

We stayed in tonight since it's raining, so I guess this song is about me....
