I have no problem with it at all. I crosspost between NBS and WBAYDN, bourbon and whisk(e)y threads, cocktail and spirit-specific threads, whatever fits. If it belongs in two or three different threads, by all means post it.

And, let us remember, that the reason for combining all the smol regions, into big regions, was to "increase usage". Barring cross-posts would seem to go against increasing post numbers.

Me and my Leatherman Wave can accomplish muck good. Your request, sadly, is beyond our combined skills, I suspect.

BTW, if MacGiuyver we're a show today, I have no doubt he'd carry a Wave, and not his Swiss Army Knife. Which, I did carry back in the 80's, because of the show.

Nope, don’t care. There are worse things to complain in life rather than what someone posts on BA.

I'm surprised that anyone thinks cross posting is a problem. I cross-post between NBS and WBAYDN if there the same beer. The 2 post aren't the same. If the beers are from the Northeast I post in that thread also just naming the beer and the city and state it's brewed in.

I'm very opinionated, know it and love debate and the spread of ideas and thinking. Voice your opinion, reuse your thoughts and pictures. Stodgy rules only limit any free discourse.

I’ve done the rarely attempted “beer nerd triple” - WBAYDN, NBW, and a tasting thread - and proudly flew my beer nerd freak flag. The more we have people sharing what they’re drinking and their thoughts on what they’re drinking in a constructive way, I say bring it, but it (cross posting) doesn’t necessarily impact my enjoyment of this site one way or another - I pushed my chips all in on BA years ago.

This thread and reading everyone’s responses and opinions brings to mind the idea that maybe we should have a larger discussion about the etiquette here as a whole; what about adding beers you have not had? Or what about people who review 20 beers a day all from their “notes”? How about adding a photo of a beer sitting on the shelf at the store? I have opinions on all of these things, including the subject of this thread but I feel no need to discuss them because honestly, it’s no big deal one way or the other to me personally. I just think there’s not a whole lot of guidelines for new users especially that lays out what the general group expects out of a user post/review/content/contribution wise. Cheers.

I knew was going to be in the minority on this one.

FWIW, cross-posting is annoying as fuck. It’s just whoring for likes.

When you do a “beer nerd triple” do you copy and paste your 1st post to the other 2 threads?

Look at my post above; do you feel the same about those actions as well? I’m genuinely interested in your input, as there are more than one way to obtain extra karma on this site for no other reason than obtaining the karma. Do you feel that is good form?

I just cross-cross posted: WBAYDN, NBS, NWWBAYDN. It's like a beer mobius strip!

I have no problem with adding beers that you have not tried… there are a number of folks who will not rate/review a beer if they have to add it to the site - I generally do this when I am visiting a brewery and add the beers that are not currently listed on the site. I also frequently add beers when I purchase them, and then review them at a later date.I don’t do it to get karma but rather to get more information available on BA for a larger audience.

Like I said, I have no issue with the practice, nor a need to discuss my opinion in the action. I just threw it out there to see what the rest of you thought. Thanks for your input and another train of thought. Cheers.

Here’s a hot take: the special tastings should be hosted on WBAYDN.

My reason for posting this poll was to see how many others bail out on threads they would otherwise follow closely when there are a lot of cross-posts, especially when there are Online Tastings.

I've followed NBW closely every weekend for years, but I also read through WBAYDN and the Tastings. I've found that when many of the posts are repeated, I just don't follow them as closely or even read all of the pages. This wasn't a complaint, and nobody is angry, as was mentioned. I think the site participation might be improved for everyone if we can identify reasons for loss of interest. No bar wants to see their regulars wander off with no explanation.

    Cheers! :beers:

Funny that this is an issue. You cross posted, I am out!

I have cross posted for what homebrew you are drinking as well as wbaydn. The post does follow both topics so made sense.
