Cross-Posting to Multiple Threads

In NBW and the tasting thread, yes, it’s essentially the same post (which is the review of the beer), though I’ll change the intro. The WBAYDN post will always be different - I don’t post reviews in that thread.

 

No, no it’s not. For me, it’s trying to drive more traffic for this site, which provides a lot of great information for all of us.

OK, just cross-posted in NBW and WBAYDN, we'll see if I get a nibble from the admin that canceled my posts before. I didn't copy the full review from NBW, but posted the picture and part of the text. That should be OK, I presume, based on posts here.

I can't see how it drives any additional traffic to the site at all. It's just the same eyeballs that were looking at the first post looking at the second post. Why not just click on the first post twice then? It's either masturbatory or incestuous, whichever the most apt offensive analogy may be.

Having a “tasting day” hosted within WBAYDN would be a marriage between the most popular thread on the site and most important function of the site (beer reviews).

Since a lot of BAs don’t participate in multiple threads, and a certain percentage of those who do are apparently annoyed by cross-posting, it would solve multiple (non) problems — meeting WBAYDN’s core criteria of sidling up to the virtual bar with a beer you’re drinking now, while also introducing additional barflies to the joys of reviewing.

Most importantly, undeserving cross-posters would only get one like per post, not the two or three they currently receive with superfluous threads.
