Yeah he was pretty reserved in critiquing the beer itself other than clarifying it definitely wasn't his beer or recipe in it's current state. The place he did go off on Ithaca was when none of them could find a date code on the 3 bottles they tasted. 100% reasonable criticism for a packaged IPA.

I had a Flower Power 6-pack straight from the brewery a couple months ago since it was only $6 as part of a pizza takeout deal. I agree with your assessment (and Chief's) that it's nothing like the hayday but I also can't say it was any worse than the last several years. Steady mediocrity.

Hoping some Spring Landscape hits the shelves out my way (Suffolk, NY) soon. No way in hell I'm paying the $30 flat shipping charge for beers from their website. $30 worth of beer would cost me $65.18 with tax! :unamused:

Was at Garnerville today picking up some more Spring Landscape. I asked one of the brewers what they are currently brewing, and she said they are doing 2 side by side SOTA's. One hazy and and the other a west coast IPA, both brewed with Galaxy.
Have to say I'm pretty excited about it.

I wonder if this is a new strategy of theirs, they did the 2 Riwaka hopped IPAs to open the year. A Galaxy hopped NE IPA by the brewers of Wrench sounds super enticing.

For comparison, Wrench is brewed with Citra and Mosaic, Torque Wrench with Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe, and Impact with all those plus Comet. Pocket Wrench is citra and comet.

The aforementioned Galaxy hopped IPAs are the latest State of the Arts releases. Both are 6.5% abv.

Summer Landscape is out this weekend. Last weekend was an all-oat IPA.

This weekend's release is another lager. A "landbier"

I visited the Garnerville location today, seems like things are back to normal. Good size crowd.
Here's a local tip: The Double Wheat Stout State of the Art (10% abv stout) has been sitting in their coolers for 6 months. Maybe something to consider grabbing.

No new releases recently other than a DDH Sour Ale. That should change this week since they're celebrating their 5 year anniversary. There are also fresh batches of Wrench and Impact Wrench.

I'm not seeing a lot of their beer in NJ lately, mostly the regular stuff. And I missed out on the last two Landscape seasons, so I made a trip up to Rockland County yesterday to pick up the Week 260.

I really like it. I'm also getting a Flower Power vibe, but in a good and updated way. Kind of like if Chief was still brewing it, this is what it would be like.

It is the next step up from Power Tools. Power Tools is less bitter but it has more in common with the Flower Power of old, maybe the name is even a reference, Idk, you'd have to ask the Chief. But I got more bitterness out of Week 260 up front and it finishes with the same sweet malty bite.

I got their last two landscape series, and I’m farther away than you are. I find their distro so inconsistent but I’m happy when I see fresh drops.

The summer landscape finally just showed up here only a couple weeks ago, "end of summer landscape" :stuck_out_tongue:

The latest State of the Art is a spinoff of Tools of the Trade using Experimental hops grown by Segal Hop Ranch.

In the works according to their instagram is a chinook wet-hopped brew.
