    We just dumped one of our cable bills, between the 2 houses it was almost 500. I think the service we have now is like 225, still ridiculous. Smart TVs and a service like Roku or Slingbox is the way to go.

    Sometimes if you call the cable company and threaten to move to another service they'll cut you a deal. They don't advertise that fact, you have to ask - they don't want to lose you as a customer.

    Unless of course that's the only cable you can choose. I have Verizon FIOS and I've called them and complained and they gave me a pretty good deal, but I've been a long time customer too. Doesn't hurt to call ... cheers Mike!

    Just back from a long trip (12 hours) from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Slightly lengthened by a side trip to Bull Frog Brewery in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, where I picked up some Edgar (among other things). Well worth the trip.

    If you're looking for live TV channels like you have with cable, you might want to try streaming. HULU ... SLING ... FUBO ..... So many out there plus the Freebies like Pluto, Tubi, etc etc etc.. Just a thought.
